It was a cold winter evening, snow was falling, darkness was gathering . The never-ending line of humans stretched as far as Vivian's eyes could see . The sound of her boots drew the attention of the humans towards her .
The security seemed frustrated with their wrinkled forehead, tired of manoeuvring the exuberant people.
A couple of women and men advanced towards her heaving with their noses as red as reindeer.
They waved the microphone at her face blocking the Barnes & Nobles in front of her .
The manager of the store hushed the reporters and welcomed 'Vivian Park Larue' inside the warmth and coziness of the store.
Vivian stood in front of the set up especially prepared for her. She marvelled at their efforts to put an enormous replica of her book "Ascian" adorned with vines and flowers. There was a sofa and a glass table and a lot of sharpie to choose from.
The manager came with a bouquet of amaryllis handed her. "Congratulations Ms Larue, the fans are going to break the doors . If we make them wait any longer".
She signed at least 100 books this evening and she was not tired at all. The happiness and smiles she received while signing brought warmth to her soul.
This was a collection of short stories, inspired by her very own experiences. The book had a taste of everything. Love, mirth, melancholy, exhilaration, Vivian had poured all her emotions through the ink inside this book.
After 3 hours, the fans were stopped.
The flashes and the never-ending questions took the place.
A lady perked up from her seat "How does it feel to Know that your first book has become the best-selling book all over the country?".
"Content" Vivian refrained from exposing a lot to those who could hinder her words.
"Lena" Vivian cried while advancing towards her car. "I can't believe they scheduled the event on Christmas".
"I too hate working on holidays. And Christmas is my favorite, I had to cancel all the signing events and promotions. "
"Being an influencer is hard" Vivian grinned.
"It's hard but fun because I get to attend parties every now and then and also explore the world". Lena was among the top 10 beauty influencers of the world , she had 100 million followers on Instagram and 20 million subscribers on YouTube. Lena helped Vivian alot in advertising.
"Has everyone arrived?" Lena asked while starting the car.
"Yes, But Yuan cannot make it, He has an important meeting with the Team since he will be having the baseball match tomorrow morning " .
Yuan had become a professional baseball player for the South Korean National Team. Most of the time he stays busy and skips gatherings.
"Seriously, They need to understand Christmas is a holiday and no one should work. Working on Christmas should be illegal" Lena grumbled .
Vivian giggled "Right ".
Both hopped out of the car .
"Jesus, your villa looks like it came straight out of Some Disney movie" Lena ogled at the Victorian architect. The garden was lit up with lamps , socks, bells and wreaths and even a sled.
"Thank you" Vivian said while rubbing her hands to warm herself.
As soon as Vivian opened the door Daisy wrapped around her legs.
"Daisy, let her warm herself" Minji pulled Daisy away while holding Nari with the other hand. She had twins who were now 2 years old.
'I've brought something really special for you both" Vivian crouched in front of the toddlers. "Did Yuan call ?".
"Yes , he did , he was missing Daisy and Nari so much" Minji and Yuan tied knots right after graduation.
Vivian still could not believe that Minji had married Yuan.
The dining table was garnished with so much delicious food that made Vivian's tummy rumble.
This night could not feel any more special. Everyone she cherished was here Minji, Daisy, Nari, Lena,Isuel and Yuan joined us over video call.
"I can't believe Iseul Choi managed to cancel his show just for Vivian's party" Lena teased him.
"Friends come first for me and I work under her do you expect me to be kicked out by the owner?" Iseul tried to act scared .
"Come on, I am not that cruel" Vivian complained."Where's the chef, it's not good to make us wait" she chimed the bell continously which was kept on the table.
"Love, haste makes waste" He sounded annoyed .
Must be fatigue, he had been preparing this feast since morning.
Vivian gets up from the chair and helps him bring the turkey. "It's smells so good." Her mouth was watering at sight of the steamy juicy turkey stuffed with prunes and apples.
"This is the first time we're going to be eating Haneul's cooking, Vivian never shuts up about your skills" Lena digs In "Haneul it's never to late to open your own restaurant, I'll be your regular customer".
"I have not graduated from culinary school so, I haven't planned anything yet" he chuckles and scratches the back of his neck.
"How was book signing?" Hanuel nudges Vivian with his elbow and whispers.
She raises her thumbs up in response as her mouth was stuffed with berries.
"I can't wait to show you all what games I've come up with". Minji smirks.
"You know, that smirk of yours sends shivers down my spine." Vivian complains.
After the feast Minji asks all to assemble inside the living room. Minji had put her children to sleep so that the adults could make the most of this night.
She brings a huge table with box with had a hole above and had a question made on its front.
"I'm out of this game." Vivians tries to back out but Lena and Minji hold her. "You're going to be the first one"lena said. Vivian was very much introduced to Minji's love for reptiles when she brought a iguana to the class on pets day, while others brought cute animals like bunnies,cats,hamsters and dogs she came with a iguana and the second time with a snake. Vivian all her life had a fear for bugs,reptiles and clowns they made her blood cold.
Vivian hesitantly puts her hand inside but before even it touches the mysterious objects she removes it. After mustering up all her courage she puts inside and screams.jumps. and clings to Haneul.
"Goodness Vivian, you have to guess it" he runs his hand up and down her back.
"It was something wobbly and wet" she gags.
"Okay, once more" Minji forces her hand inside the box again and she jumps back. "It's a frog" she yells.
Iseul's eyes start watering after laughing so much.
Minji picks up the box and reveals a plate of purple jiggly jelly.she slumps on the floor laughing.
Now it was Lena's turn she guesses each object at once.
Iseul was surprisingly scared of birds and ran of out the room as soon as the pigeon made the slightest sound inside box. Haneul somehow managed to answer.
"Guys, Now it's time for my livestream, which I promised".
Lena announces.
"Okay" everyone says in sync.
She introduces to Minji first to her fans and they couldn't stop gloating over her crystal clear skin. Then to Haneul and Vivian, Haneul had taken Vivians spotlight.
And last was the renowed idol Iseul Choi. And the comments wouldn't stop, the fire emojies,and thirsty comments and soem angry fans started bashing him for cancelling the show so, Lena changes the subject.
"Guys, here we have our amazing author and her boyfriend, Today Haneul is going to do Vivian's make up" Vivian was aware that Lena was going to do it In her live so she had already taught him some basics.
He rummaged through the make up box.
"What are you searching for?' Vivian asks.
"Moisturizer" .Still focused on searching inside the box.
"It's right in front of your eyes" she giggles and he picks up the bottles and applies it on her face. It was quite a less amount to cover her whole face.
He then takes out a foundation.
And dab.dab.dab.dab.
Then some pink tint on her nose and cheeks.
Nude lipstick. People start commenting that they wanna see him put eyeliner. Probably because Vivians looks human right now.
His hands were vibrating , and yet he made a fine winged liner.impressive!
People start commenting how Hanuel Is a Husband material. Vivian starts blushing hard.
"I think I need some fresh air" she smiles her way out of the room.
Vivians enjoys the view of lit up city, when someone comes beside her.
"What happened ?"
"Just felt hot inside"
Hanuel smirks knowing that she's lying.
"Do think I'd make a good husband" He asks.
"Ofcourse" she turns , and gasps . Haneul was holding a ring in his hand.she places a hand on her mouth in disbelief.
"I wanted to give this before Halloween" he breathes "But you had stuff going on".
She embraces him without a second thought "dummy , did you think I'd reject you".
"No, love I was trying to find the right moment". He kisses her.
"I promise to spend my entire life with you, you were the second person I cried the most in life for and I cherish you more than anyone my honeybun."
