Seeing this breathtaking woman was not on my bingo card when I came into work that day, and I'll never forget the first interaction we had together.

"Hey, my name's Natalie, nice to meet you!" She grins with her smile and gives me the same gesture Austin gave me earlier to shake hands.

"Nice to meet you as well Natalie, my name's Grant, happy to meet you too!" I return the smile and handshake, while simultaneously bursting with nervous energy inside, and feeling so flustered, a way that I never felt before with such a strong force.

After greeting each other, we went our separate ways for the rest of the shift, while I continued to learn the stock position from Austin. But I'd be lying if my mind wasn't constantly wandering to Natalie and having that curiosity and urge to learn more about her as a person if only the initial attraction was with how beautiful she looked physically.

As I got home, my best friend Luther texted me, asking how the training shift went. We've been close for relatively a short period of time, but our friendship ran deep even with the short amount of time we've known each other. We just bonded over so many things from sports, music genres, and most importantly, having that trust to be able to be open and honest about anything that's going on in our lives.

"Hey Grant,  how was training today with Austin?" Luther asked as I settled into my room after a long day with school earlier.

"It was great Luther, thanks for asking as always :) I was able to get the basics down and looking forward to of course working with you soon once we're both trained!" I replied back, appreciative of him suggesting that I should apply to the job as well and it worked out.

I reserved telling him about Natalie though and what my first impressions of her was, since I was still trying to make sense of why I was feeling so nervous and so starstruck by her. And I also wanted to just mainly get to know her better before I did say anything since I felt at the time it would be best.

As the next couple of weeks passed, I continued to learn more from Austin and became more confident of being able to do the job on my own eventually, while also focusing on school and having some time to have fun with Luther whenever possible whether it was talking over text, at school, hanging out, or playing video games.

But I rarely got a chance to see Natalie during November, and it only drove me more curious and yearning to get a chance to actually find time to talk to her again and learn more about her as a person.

This changed in December, as I crossed paths with someone else at work...
