Strangers Again?

Love Story Being Written?

Alexandra asked me if I'd want her help to get in touch with Natalie on social media, which made me nervous and excited simultaneously, with so many emotions spilling out on the outside.

"Hey Grant, I know how you feel towards Natalie, I could get you in touch with her so you can try to get to know her!" She said excitedly, with that smile on her freckled face.

"Alex, I'm not sure this is such a good idea, I don't even know what to say to start a conversation with her..." I hesitated, starting to feel my cheeks burn up and my face started to also sweat as it always does when I get nervous and worried.

"Oh come on Grant, you can do this, if we can become close friends this fast then you can at least get to know Natalie better" Alex responded, as we left work and went our separate ways temporarily.

As I was relaxing once I got home, Alex texted me and sent me Natalie's account which already made my heart jump.

"Are you serious right now Alex, I told you I'd be too nervous to start any conversation with her, why do you keep insisting??" I texted her while trying to calm my nerves about the impending conversation between Natalie and myself.

"Come on Grant, you know you can talk to her, she's just a person and you wanted to learn more about her silly goose, don't be so shy now!" She responded as it felt like she was determined to push me until I texted Natalie and started off a conversation.

"Ugh fine Alex, but I will absolutely rage at you after if this goes terribly..." I text back, now focusing on what to even start off with when reaching out to Natalie.

I decided to just text her, introducing myself and asking about the typical stuff like how her day's gone and also how she's been recently. Once I started to feel comfortable, I decided to take the leap and start to really get to know her and was just hoping it worked out.

"Hey Natalie, I also was wondering if you had anything you like to do outside of work and school, I could start first! First, music is one of my biggest passions, and I love to write music myself, sing, listen, you name it. I also enjoy it when I do have time to play the piano since I started learning it when I was young. Also, I enjoy reading and writing in a lot of different genres. And of course, I love exercise and enjoy working out pretty much every day."

I tend to ramble and just fully explain what's going on about anything really, and I feel embarrassed sometimes but at the end, I just appreciate being able to be comfortable with explaining myself fully :)

"Oh my, sounds like you have a lot of things you enjoy to do in your free time Grant! I mainly just like working out but I'm definitely working on getting more hobbies, that sounds great for you though :)" She responded back, with the smile on my screen making me smile back subconsciously for some reason.

As I also found out that she also wanted to become a lawyer, I looked at the time and felt that it was a good place to say goodnight and let what my heart was telling me sit for a while. Shortly after, Alex texted me asking how it went as I expected.

"Hey Grant, how was your conversation with Natalie and how are you feeling?" Alex inquired, as I could just feel her smirk through my phone screen, just a sign of how well I knew her already in such a short time span up to this point.

"It was actually pretty good Alex, I got pretty nervous just through text but I was able to get through it and to get to know her at least a little more!" I respond back, still trying to process my feelings and why my reaction has been so different with Natalie than to other girls that I've found attractive.

"Ouuuuu Grant, I feel like I'm witnessing the start of a love story between you and Natalie :)" Alex texts back, which takes me aback for a while.

When I heard that, it was something that I knew would always stick with me, even far into the future. I felt that maybe I had genuine feelings toward Natalie was a possibility, but hearing someone blatantly state what I admittedly felt almost instantaneously about Natalie was still a considerable shock.

"I don't know Alex, I think we should leave it off there for now. Have a goodnight and we'll talk tomorrow of course :)" I replied back, as I just wanted to relax for the rest of the night and not think too much about what was going on with Natalie.
