Figuring it Out (temporary name) Chase X Rocky

Chapter 2

"Ruff!" Rocky's ears perk up as he hears a small bark. He lifts his head up to see a small gray pup running around with the other pups. "What the heck?" He sits up and nudges Chase to get his attention. Chase opens his eyes and looks up at him. "Look at this." Rocky says motioning towards the other pups. Chase sits up and looks forward. "Huh?" Rocky looks at him and smiles. "Let's go see what's going on." Rocky begins to walk towards the group and Chase follows him. Marshall noticed them walking over and yells out. "Oh, hey guys!" Skye turns her head towards them and waves. They approach them and see the pup is still running around. "Who's this?" Rocky asks. Marshall shrugs. "We don't know, he just kinda showed up and wanted to play." Chase sits and waves at the pup. The pup tilts his head and looks at Chase. "Do you guys know his name?" Chase says lifting his head to look at Skye. She shakes her head. "Have you tried asking?" Skye nods. "He won't answer us." The pup runs towards Chase and starts barking. "Hey kid, What's your name?" The pup laughs and starts playing with Chase's tail. Rocky sits down next to Chase and calls Ryder from his pup tag. "Hey Ryder, there is a small pup down here at the park. Do you know who he is?" Ryder sighs in relief. "Thank goodness! I didn't know where he went." Rocky looks at Chase. His face is beaming with joy. He was smiling and laughing while he played with the small pup. "So, you do know who he is?" Ryder laughs. "Yes, He somehow got out of the lookout. I'll be down in a second to get him." Chase immediately looks up at Rocky and frowns. The pup continues to bark and laugh at Chase. "Ok Ryder." Chase sighs and looks back down to the pup. "Do you have a name?" He asks the pup. The pup sits and nod while looking up at Chase. "Can you tell me?" The small pup smiles, he stands back up and starts panting. "My names Sam." Chase's face drops in awe. "Well nice to meet you Sam, my name is Chase." The pup laughs and starts tugging at Chase's tail again. Chase smiles and looks up at Rocky. "He kind of looks like a smaller version of you Rocky." The pup stops and looks up. "Or you're a bigger me!" Rocky raises one of my eyebrows and smiles. "There you are. I've been looking for you everywhere!" Ryder walks over and picks up the pup. "Where are you taking him Ryder sir?" Chase asks. Ryder turns towards the lookout. "I'm just watching him for a while." He starts to walk to the doors. "Ryder where are his parents?" He stops and sighs. "We are trying to figure that out. He was abandoned so we are trying to find him a placement." Rocky turns to Chase, his face was full of gloom as he stared at the ground. "Wait!" Rocky yells. Ryder turns to him. "I can watch him while you look..." Ryder smiles. "Is that ok with you Sam?" The pup nods. Ryder sets him down and the pup runs over to him. "I'll tell you when I find a placement." He turns and walks back into the lookout. Rocky looks back at Chase. Chase tilts his head in confusion. "Come on." Chase looks at the other pups and Skye shrugs. Rocky starts walking towards the pup-houses and Sam follows him. "Is Chase coming with us?" He asks. "Huh?" He turns around to see Chase still in the same spot. "Chase? Are you coming?" Chase stands up. "Oh, I didn't know I was invited." Rocky laughs. "Why wouldn't you be?" Chase smiles. "Ok, let's find something to do."
