The next morning, Chase and Rocky woke up to the sound of Sam's small whimpers. They rubbed the sleep from their eyes and sat up, only to find Sam staring at them with big, watery eyes. "What's wrong, Sam?" Rocky asked, concern evident in his voice. Sam looked up at them and let out a soft whine. "I don't want to leave you guys," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Chase and Rocky's hearts sank as they realized that Sam had overheard their conversation with Ryder the night before. They had wanted to spare him the pain of knowing that he was leaving, but it seemed that they had failed. Chase pulled Sam close to him. "We don't want you to leave either, Sam," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "But we have to remember that you need a family who will love and take care of you." Rocky nodded in agreement. Sam looked up at Chase. "You guys don't love me?" Chase looked at Rocky. "Let's get you ready for today." Rocky said standing up. They spent the morning playing with Sam, trying to make the most of the time they had left with him.

As the day wore on, the three of them found themselves downtown in Adventure Bay. Sam's little legs had grown tired from all the running around, and he needed a break. They decided to take a stroll around town and see if they could find something interesting to do. Adventure Bay was always bustling with activity, and today was no exception. The sun was shining, and people were out enjoying the warm weather. The trio walked past the beach, where families were playing in the sand and splashing in the water. Sam's eyes lit up as he saw the water, he looked up at Chase. "Can I go play, please?" he asked, his tail wagging. Chase looked down at Sam and smiled. "Sure, go have fun!" Sam ran towards the water. "Be careful!" Rocky called after him, but Sam was already bounding away, his small paws kicking up sand as he went. Chase and Rocky watched as the little pup launched himself into the shallows, spraying water everywhere. He darted in and out of the waves, yipping with pure joy. They couldn't help but chuckle at his antics. "He sure is energetic," Chase commented, his tail wagging as he watched Sam frolic in the water. "And silly," Rocky added, grinning as Sam tried to chase a wave, only to be surprised when it receded and then came crashing back towards him. The little pup's ears perked up in surprise, and he quickly scampered away, yipping in surprise. Chase and Rocky laughed heartily, Sam's playfulness bringing warmth to their hearts. After some time, Sam returned to them, soaked and panting, but with a wide grin plastered on his face. Chase and Rocky were still laughing. "What's so funny?" Sam asked, tilting his head in confusion. "You" Rocky managed to say between chuckles, "You looked like a little fish trying to fly!" "Yeah, and the way you chased the wave, then ran from it!" Chase added, his eyes crinkling as he laughed. "It was really funny!" Sam looked at them for a moment, then started laughing too. "I guess I do look silly," he admitted. But he didn't seem to mind.  As the sun began to set, they made their way back home, their laughter echoing through the streets of Adventure Bay. It had been a fun-filled day, one that they would remember for a long time. And as they walked, Sam in the middle, his tail wagged with happiness. He may have looked silly running in the water, but he was glad he could make Chase and Rocky laugh. Sam's departure was looming, and they knew that it was going to be a tough goodbye. When they arrived at the Lookout, Ryder was waiting for them. He had a small bag packed for Sam, and he handed it to Chase. "Sam's family is coming to pick him up tomorrow," Ryder said, his voice soft. "Wait, what?" Chase said in shock. "I thought you said we had a few more days. Not that we only had today." Rocky spoke up as well. "Ryder, You did say that." They both looked up at him. "Look, Its only the small visit. He will be back later on in the day." Chase looked down. "I know it's hard, but I think it's time for him to move on." Chase and Rocky nodded, tears brimming in their eyes. They had grown attached to Sam over the past two days. They spent the rest of the night with Sam, playing and cuddling with him, trying to make the most of the time they had left. Soon, Sam fell asleep cuddling with Chase. Rocky was sitting up staring out the window. "Tomorrow is going to be a rough day." Chase yawned and then responded. "Yeah, I don't think I'm ready." Rocky thought for a moment. "I do love him, Chase." Rocky waited for a response as he starred at the sky. "Chase?" He turned to see Chase asleep with Sam curled up close to him. Rocky smiled and walked over to lay down. "Goodnight, Love you."
