THE DRIVE TO DETROIT was not what Sophia expected something different then Gotham but it wasn't, it was the similar set up to Gotham. "Detroit isn't wasn't what I expected it to be. Kind of the same as Gotham." Sophia looked over at Dick who was focused on the road.

"What did you expect Soph? Something like Central City?" Dick laughed. He was glad that Sophia agreed to come with him, even if they weren't a thing. He liked her presence and he never was like that with anyone.

"Kinda yeah.. So where are we going?" She asked looking back out the window.

"The police station. we both need jobs and money." He told her handing her a fake resume that she assumed he made for her when he left her apartment.

"Dick this is way too good to be my resume. I don't even have some of these talents. I mean I do have my PhD so maybe it will be believable." Sophia laughed at him. "I'm really glad I came with you." She told him as she looked in to his honey brown eyes.

"I'm glad you came with too. I didn't want to leave you alone in Gotham without anyone to protect you." He smiled at her, he could get lost in her eyes for days.

"What are you talking about? Batman would've protected me." She laughed. Sophia could always laugh at her own jokes even if they weren't funny. "Good one Soph." Dick began to laugh too. Sophia continued to crack jokes the rest of the ride until they arrived at the police station.

"So this is the Detroit Police Department." Sophia was not amazed "This place is 10 times smaller than the last one." She was still not amazed.

"Hey put your pretty face on and be nice. Do it for me and i'll buy you pizza" Dick sent her a crooked smile and she shook her and got out of the car. When she walked into the station eyes were on her, everyone was interested in Sophia.

A man in 50s approached Sophia and Dick, he was balding and had on suspenders. Sophia tried to hold in her laugh.
"Our two newest recruits I see. Sophia Snow and Richard Grayson, follow me and i'll show you to your desk. I already have an assignment for you Grayson and Sophia I don't have much for you to do. We've never had a Biochemist in our building before so excuse us for not having anything for you to do." The man said to them as he showed them to their desk. Sophia called bullshit, there had to be something for her to do at least something. "Soph stay here, I'm gonna go see what they have for me to do and i'll see you later." Dick told her planting a quick kiss on her lips, she knew this wouldn't have been good if she was stuck doing nothing.

Dick was gone for a few hours and so Sophia spent her time finding the best pizza places in Detroit, flipping threw magazines she has no interest in, making no friends, and organizing her and Dick's desk.

"You've been busy, miss me?" Dick came up behind her, scaring her.

"Shit Dick, you scared me. Yeah I did miss you, how'd you're new case go?" Sophia went to place a kiss on his lips before she was interrupted. "Detective Grayson. Amy Rohrbach. Transfer from Oakland, I'm your new partner." Amy approached Dick ignoring Sophia. "Ha! They gave you a partner and what'd I get? nothing, not even a lab." Sophia exclaimed as always Dick ignored her when she became sarcastic.

"Right. The Captain mentioned." Dick told her as he shook her hand. "It's a pleasure. You are again?" Amy turned to Sophia who had an annoyed look on her face. "Dr. Sophia Snow." She didn't put her hand out but she loved to show off the fact that she had her PhD. "I read your file, you seem to know what you're doing. You keep doing your thing, i'll keep doing my thing. We'll be good." Dick walked towards his desk which was a little farther away then she hoped.
