Chapter Four
Aaron Briar
Can you imagine it?
Can you imagine living like a zombie on earth?
Cold, lifeless, having a one track mind maybe?
They’ve gone and lost their identity and sense of self awareness.
Well, if you think about it, some people live like that day by day and don’t even realize it.
Instead of being the walking dead, they’re playing the role of the walking living.
Honestly, sometimes wandering the earth isn’t worth it.
Not if you don’t know you are.
So when does the cycle end?
Can someone please tell me when the cycle
ends…….?

“Aaron!” My mom half whispered half yelled, “Stop that!”
I couldn’t help but tap my pencil on the glossy maple table.
“I’m sorry for my disturbance. Please carry on mother,” I replied in a monotone voice as my mom continued with the business presentation.
Sometimes, on days I don't have classes, I act as an intern at my parents' Corporation. Being the son of the C.E.O, i'm not actually treated as an intern.
By this point in my “career” I should know that these meetings really are important and can determine whether or not the clients from another corporation sign the agreement or whatever it may be.
Quite frankly though, these meeting could bore anyone!
I looked around the room at the various guests’ faces.
They all wore the same bare expression. It was that of a sophisticated, knowledgeable person, but deep down inside, they’re probably just thinking about where they’re going to go out for lunch after this.
I would be in their same situation, eventually .
If it would have been my choice, I’d probably be a Nascar driver right now. Obviously that was out of the question in my parents eyes.
I got over it though and learned to deal with my fate.
I will be the owner of this corporation eventually, and in the end, it doesn’t really matter to me.
In relation to that, after this meeting is over, I have a photo shoot to go to for the cover of Forbes magazine.
I was interviewed a little while back for my thoughts on being the next in line to command “Briar Enterprises” or just B.E for short. The interview will be in the magazine, and apparently I’m the highlight of that issue; so I’m going to be on the cover.
“Best issue they’ll ever have”, I chuckled silently at my egoistic thought.
“Aaron, do you have anything to add before the meeting comes to an end?” I snapped out of my thoughts, and saw my mom staring at me, waiting for me to respond with something that would make us look good.
