Chapter ten
Aaron Briar
Once a year, people can dress however they want without being judged. However, if society weren’t so cruel they would be able to do that regardless of what day it was.
Ever since the beginning of time, certain rules were made about the way people should act and dress. Whether they are fair and just is beyond the common consent of an ordinary day person. Guidelines were made, even if they did not completely satisfy everyone’s preferences. If someone chooses to not abide by the “rules,” they can be physically and verbally shunned until their manners are corrected.
In relation to this particular day, society is a lot more accepting of people who appear to be different.
These people parade the streets and seek goods from others, which may seem greedy but is somehow not only accepted but also invited.
Halloween is a great time for the economy and also the manufactures of things related to this theme.
To some, Halloween is a one of the best days of the year, but to various people, it is seen as a celebration of things pertaining to the devil. The festivity of this day is seen as an anti-Christ.
Feasibly, that is why all the “monsters” and “outcasts” come out to play.

By this point, I was ready to just about pull out my hair and be sentenced to my death bed. It was the day of the Halloween gala my mom was hosting on behalf of B.E. I had hardly slept last night in anticipation of the event even though I knew that I would have to wake up early in the morning to supervise the people setting up.
My mom appointed me as supervisor of the decorations so that I can assure that the gala’s set up was in order as planned. My mom had planned a “haunted mansion” themed party. Everywhere, different companies were arriving with the things that had been ordered. I was hard to find a part of the house that didn’t have people working on one thing or the other.
The main gala was being hosted in the ballroom, where the stage was currently being set up. Later, the orchestra would arrive and perform throughout the night on the stage.
So far, however, various things have found a way to go wrong.
How could the company lend us a fog maker that doesn’t make any fog? They sent me many more machines along with that one, but I had planned to scatter them in different locations. The more fog that surrounding the house, the better.
Of course lamps would also have to be set up outside so that the various people that will arrive won’t have any issues seeing the road.
There was also an issue with the electricity being used in the backyard. My mom had order to set up a haunted back yard, but the electricians were having trouble setting up the wires.
The “haunted backyard” was just my mother’s garden decorated with things like, webs, tombstones, and skeletons. There is also going to be a paid actor dressed up a “Michael Myers” from the slasher film, Halloween, to patrol the area. He obviously isn’t allowed to actually harass people. My mom prefers not to deal with a law suit.
The food is supposed to arrive in two hours, but they called and said that there was a bit of a delay since there were so many orders being carried forth. The bakery we had ordered from also had a bit of a setback, but will follow through.
Thick, dark blinds were also ordered ahead of time so that the room would seem more secluded, so fortunately we did not save everything till last moment.
