Third POV:
Lo'ak couldn't remember what had happened at first, his sight was still clouded and he felt dizzy. His head was pounding, he didn't dare to open his eyes. He knows if he does his headache will get worse from all of the light. He was wondering at this point if he had a concussion because this was the worst headache of his life. Slowly opening his eyes, almost regretting his decision immediately. He thought to himself, "I have to move, if I don't I risk becoming some creature's food, or succumb to my injuries." That just made Lo'ak look around himself checking for any type of cuts on himself.
He saw a big gash on his left arm, it was leaking a little bit of blood but it's still worrying him, knowing that he needed to get that fixed. He knows that he is at "Three Brothers Rocks" , But he doesn't know how to get back. His Ilu was probably scared shitless, not wanting to be anywhere near where he is, and his Ikran was somewhere on the Island, not knowing where because his dad doesn't want him knowing so he doesn't fly off.
Lo'ak shifted on the rock he was on, he thought to himself "This rock doesn't feel like a normal rock-" when he got cut off from the rock spitting out water, "Shit!" Lo'ak got scared from the sudden action, he saw what the creature's head was, realizing it's a Tulkun. Tsireya told him about how the Tulkun were special to the Metkayina Clan, she told him they were Spirit Sisters and Brothers to them.
Lo'ak saw that it was lifting up their fin, wanting him to go on it. Lo'ak did what it asked, saying "You saved my life, thank you!" Lo'ak looked into the Tulkun's eye, it made some clicking sounds, with some rumbling and squeaks. "Buddy, I have no idea what you're saying!" Lo'ak chuckled, he looked into the Tulkun's eye, seeing that he was looking at something. He looked down, and saw a rusted Anchor stuck in his fin, causing him either pain or annoyance, "They hurt you didn't they?''Lo'ak felt bad for the Tulkun. "Don't worry, I'll get it out!"
Lo'ak went underwater trying to find any way he could remove this anchor attached to the Tulkun's fin, he saw a little turner thing and turned it as hard as he could, it was rusted metal so it should be kinda easy to break off. Alas, Lo'ak managed to turn it enough for it to break off, removing the anchor from the Tulkun's fin. He came back up to the surface, the Tulkun made more sounds, Lo'ak thinks he's saying "Thank you" or something like that.
Lo'ak just has to ask this, because he really likes being with the Tulkun. "Friends?" Lo'ak signed friends, it was one of the only signs he could remember at the moment. The Tulkun agreed as far as Lo'ak knows, he signed "Friends'' again and said "That's right we're friends!" Lo'ak genuinely laughed, for the first time in what felt like forever.
He was so excited to actually have a friend. He didn't feel alone for once. Lo'ak noticed the Tulkun's fin floating up in the air, forcing Lo'ak to go underwater. He put his hands up in the air and made a face saying "What was that for?" The tulkun spun around, swimming back to Lo'ak and offering him his fin. Lo'ak gladly held onto his fin having fun and swimming around enjoying themselves.
Lo'ak was swimming around the tulkun, when he saw that he was missing his other fin. He also saw that he had a scar going down his eye, Lo'ak could not help but to be saddened. Why would the Sky People do such horrible things to such caring, and beautiful creatures?. Lo'ak signed "I'm sorry" , the tulkun moans back, signaling he was okay. Lo'ak swam to the other side of the tulkun, holding onto his fin like they were holding hands. Lo'ak smiled, he is happy that he could have a friend like this Tulkun.
—------------------
"You know my dad came from a star" Lo'ak pointed to the star he was talking about, "That one, It's called earth" Lo'ak looked at the tulkun, happy that he made friends with a tulkun, or a friend in general. That made Lo'ak think "Aonung and his friends left me,I just wanted to be friends' ' That made Lo'ak suddenly have a wave full of forgetfulness, realizing it's night time and he has to be back home.
"Oh shit! I'm so sorry but I have to go, I'll see you again!" Lo'ak signed the last part quickly, so he could get home faster. The tulkun said his goodbyes, swimming away. Lo'ak had to swim all the way back to shore scared, knowing his parents are probably worried or they are going to beat him with a stick.
Lo'ak looked back on the big gash on his arm, seeing that the blood is all crusted up already turning into a scab. He can't help but feel disgusted by the sight. He was never the best looking at blood, or anything gruesome in general.
Lo'ak arrived at his family's marui, seeing the light is on and his parents at the table patiently waiting for him. Lo'ak thought to himself "I should turn back now, I don't want to face them."
He made a slight sound outside, he saw his parents head turning to his direction catching sight of Lo'ak.
He went inside of the Marui, looking around to see if his siblings were asleep. They were all sleeping, sometimes snoring. "Sit down Lo'ak now." Jake's voice was calm, yet angry. Lo'ak immediately sat down awaiting what was going to happen, trying to tune out his parents yelling at him.
He was happy that he got to make a friend that night, ignoring what his parents were saying.
