- Hi Francesca, I'm Dr. Millin and I'll be checking in with you today.
Jules was not originally on Francesca's case but after a few changes made by Chief Webber, she was assigned to be a part of her medical team and spent a great section of her shifts doing routine exams. She was always cheerful, hoping one day she would hear back "Hello Dr. Millin", but as of now she can only hear the machines and her own voice as she starts gossiping about what's going on around the hospital. To be fair, Francesca can't really answer so her secrets are very safe.
It has been around two weeks now and Francesca was still asleep, her breathing was fairly better and as of last night, her brain activity was good so Amelia was hopeful that no surgery would be needed as long as at the very least, she started giving signs of waking up soon.
Chessie didn't see a beach with people she missed and wanted to see, it's like she was asleep the whole time, not properly resting but the thought and movement of opening her eyes felt impossible. She could hear the machines beeping and from time to time, what the doctors were saying to visitors, which she assumed were the O'Brien family. The voices were not really clear but the ringing noise in her ears had stopped, she wished she could say that and blink instead of talking, or hold somebody's hand, like the nice firefighter she couldn't remember the name. Hospitals are not her place, she avoided them at all costs and wanted nothing to do with them, but now I it is sort of inevitable for her current situation.- It's mid-November now, I'm gonna start decorating your room for Christmas. You could at least wake up and help with the hospital Tree. I'll put some fairy lights in your room anyway, I hope you like them because I love them. Going away now, please don't give us any scary health reactions and wake up soon.
Jules smiled and after looking at Francesca one more time, she took a deep breath and left her room. She was almost done updating her chart when Amelia arrives with Teddy, the two were in a fun conversation and were not going to stop but once they saw Jules leaving a certain room, it just seemed like they probably should continue their conversation later.
- Any miracles happened and she's awake Dr Millin? Amelia anxiously asked.
- Not so far.
Jules handed the IPad to Amelia and looked at Francesca's room.
- She seems to be doing great but the waking up part not so much, her oxygen levels are good and her heartbeat is at a better rhythm so maybe we could try transferring her out of the ICU? Jules suggested but her voice sounded a little uncertain.
- Only if she wakes up. Amelia shouldn't you consider surgery again? Teddy asked and crossed her arms.
- I'm not going to do a brain surgery unless there is need for one. Her brain activity is perfectly normal and I talked with Doctor Link just this morning as well, her fractures are healing perfectly from the time she arrived so far.
- Are we missing something? Her heart is fine, could be a little better but still she should be awake by now.
- Maybe, although quite different, this is something like Meredith with covid all over again. With the beach and the ghosts and everything else. Amelia answered Teddy as she looked and checked Francesca's chart, trying to lighten the mood, but frowning when she double checked the chart. - Is this the end of it?
- Sorry?
Jules said quite confused as she now also looked at the screen.
- Her medical history, is this all of it?
- Well it should be, I remember Doctor Hunt asking a nurse a few days back for an updated one. Why?
- Well it's... short, and quite incomplete.
