I started to attack my walls, not literally of course. I took down all of the framed playbills, and carefully stacked them in a box lined with bubble wrap. Five hours ago, I'd never thought that I would be moving. But here I am, packing up my room so I can go live my dream.
You're probably confused. Let's back it up.

~flashback~
My whole life had revolved around one thing: Broadway. My parents knew nothing about theatre, but they were more than happy to let me explore my interests with theatre programs and vocal classes. And until now, that's the farthest I've gotten. Last week, I finished playing Dorothy in my theatre's production of Wizard Of Oz. And today started like any other Tuesday, waking up at 6:45 for school, then walking to school with my best friend Maxton. But then, in the middle of 4th period, my phone started ringing in class. Just my luck, my phone starts ringing in the class with the teacher that is the strictest about phones. I tried not to make a big deal of it, but something in the back of my head said that I needed to check it. If someone was calling me in the middle of class, it would be important. So, I took my phone out of my backpack and pressed the home button. My lock screen was dark, except for a message being displayed on the screen:
From: Mom
Call me back, it's an emergency.
Everyone in the class was looking at me, and my teacher said,
"Miss Winters, do you have something you would like to share with the class?"
"Um, actually, my mom called me and said it was an emergency, may I go to the office and return her call?" I asked.
"If it's an emergency, yes. Come back and tell me what it up when you find out." She said. I basically ran to the office of the high school, quickly explained to the secretary why I was calling someone on my phone, and dialed my moms number.
"Mom, what's wrong?" I asked frantically.
" honey, well, there's something I have to tell you. " she said, sounding sad, which made me even more worried.
"Well, what is it?" I asked.
" I got a call today, and they said that THEY WANTED YOU TO AUDITION FOR A BROADWAY SHOW!!" She exclaimed as she finished her sentence.
I went into a state of shock, then asked,
"Really?"
" yes!! I'm coming to pick you up from school right now, we are moving to NYC tommorow!" She said. We hung up and the secretary looked at me expectantly.
" well, I do musical theatre, and somehow I was offered the chance to audition for a broadway musical! My mom and I are moving out to New York tommorow!" I said, and the secretary's face brightened.
"That's great! Well, you should go back to class to get your things if your mom is picking you up." She said, and I walked out of the office. When I got to my classroom, I explained to my teacher what was happening, and she wished me luck and told me to go live my dream. Hey, she's actually nicer than I assumed! I grabbed my stuff and walked out of the classroom for the last time. I knew when I got to the office that I had time to spare, so I wrote a note to my best friend Maxton explaining all of this and slipped it into her locker. My mom was waiting for me when I got back to the office. The office staff all told me to 'break a leg', and my mom and I walked out the door.
"So, before you have a major freakout, I have to explain something. We are moving to New York City tomorrow, so you need to get packing when we get home. Ok, now you can freakout." She told me as we walked to our car.
"OMG OMG OMG OMG I might be on Broadway OMG." I said, as I sat down in the car and buckled my seatbelt. I still couldn't believe that this was happening.
"And, do you want to know what the musical is?" She asked.
"Duh!"
"Seussical! . Oh, and can you guess who you are trying out for?"
" um...... mayz-no, JoJo- no. I'm not sure! Who is it?" I asked.
"Gertude Mcfuzz." She responded, and a smile crept across my face as I in visioned my self singing my heart out on Broadway as Gertrude.
