"um, Amelie, what are you doing here?" I asked, and Emily walked up behind me, ready to defend me.
"I'm here to stop you from going on a date with MY man. You are no NOT going to steal him away from me." Amelie said. Taken aback, I said,
"I don't want to fight about this. He asked me on a date, and that is his business. You can't control him or me."
"And I am going to have to ask you to leave our apartment, or I will call security, and then possibly have you taken out of the play for being rude to other cast members." Emily said. I mentally thanked her as she led Amelie out of the room and down the hall. She came back a few moments later with a very confused Sydney holding a tub of ice cream with a spoon inside.
"I brought us a hostage." Emily said, and Sydney went to sit down on the couch. We explained everything, and she understood. The doorbell rang for the second time and I quickly hurried to the door, to find that it was Nathan this time.
"hey..." I said, smiling at him.
"hi...are you ready?" he asked, and I nodded. I took his arm and we walked out, and I closed the door behind me after waving and winking at Emily and Sydney.
" so where are we going?" I asked, looking up at him.
"That's for you to find out when we get there." He said as he led me downstairs. He led me towards his car and opened the passenger door for me. I sat down and started to go through his CD's that were in the compartment in front of me. I heard him sit down next to me but I continued rifling through the drawer.
"Looking for something specific?" he asked.
"Maybe..." I said, and finally found a musical or two of interest. "Ooh, you have Book Of Mormon and Fun Home. Which one to choose?"
He grabbed Fun Home very quickly out of my hand.
"I'm sooo tired of Book Of Mormon, let's just listen to Fun Home. We may be able to get through two soundtracks, we are going somewhere pretty far away."
I started to sing It All Comes Back and before I knew it, we were finished with the soundtrack.
"Look in there again, I have the Wicked soundtrack somewhere in there." he told me, and I quickly found the green and white case. Nathan did an impressive version of Dancing Through Life, and I performed my best version of Popular . By the time For Good was over, we were pulling into a small parking lot.
"We have arrived to our destination."
He had brought me to one of those places where they cooked the food in front of you on a grill.
We had an amazing time that night, laughing and talking about whatever. After we left the restaurant, we sat down on a bench outside and talked a lot more.
"I think that Jon is going to work us really hard for the next month before previews start." He said at one point.
"Yeah. If only there was some way to make everything easier, but yet still be just as amazing." I said.
He looked into my eyes and said,
"I know a way I can make one part easier..." And then, he kissed me. After getting over the initial shock, I sank into the kiss. When we finally broke apart, I asked,
"What was that for?"
"Practice." He smiled and our lips met again.
