Kora's POV
I was in a deep sleep, when I felt ice cold liquid. I screamed and jolted up, I was soaked. Val and Ash were laughing at me. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!" I yelled pushing Val and Ash out of my room.
I looked over at my calendar, Saturday, the day I get to meet my soon to be step-mother. I let a small sigh out of my escape my mouth. I was nervous, I had no clue who this woman even was. I got dressed in a pair of ripped jeans, and a black tank top that was ripped on the sides. I walked downstairs and sat on the couch. "Lets go" my dad yelled.
I stood up and entered the car. Val was already in the front seat, so I had to sit in the back next to Ash. I put my headphones in and skimmed through my music until I found my favorite song, Bad Blood by Taylor Swift. I blasted my eardrums for about 5 minutes, before Ash pulled one of my headphones and yelled. "KORA WERE HERE!!!" I jumped up and punched him in the jaw. "Owww," he whined. I couldn't help but laugh at him, its so funny when he whines because he always makes this face. He punched me back, but I barley felt it.
I got ready to counterattack,"Hey you two stop fighting," Val said with a smirk. I sighed and got out of the car, I was breath taken by the beautiful purple Victorian style home. In the driveway was a white truck.
We walked up to the door and Val knocked on the door. We heard nothing for a few seconds then we heard the door being unlocked, the door flew open and a short woman appeared. She was very pretty, she had dark, wavy shoulder length hair. She wore a white sundress. She smiled and said "hey Jeff." and hugged dad.
I almost growled but Val whispered "Act like your happy for them." I nodded.
Dad started to introduced us, he finished with Asher. "And this is Asher."
Asher smiled. He took the lady's hand and kissed it. She giggled "Such a gentleman". We walked inside and it was gigantic.
She yelled for someone "JESSICA. WE HAVE GUESTS!" Oh no I thought this cant be happening.
Jessica yelled back"COMING!" within a minute or two she walked down the stairs. Her smile faded as she saw me. I tried to hide my face but she saw me anyway.
"I'm Cassidy, but you can call me Cass, and this is my daughter Jessica." the woman said. Jessica kept her gaze on me and I felt very uncomfortable. "Shall we eat" Cass said. We all nodded and sat at the long wooden table. Cass served me a plate of juicy stake. I nearly drooled over it as I got my plate back. We prayed then started eating.
I wasn't focusing on the conversation so I mumbled to myself about the whole step mom thing. "Kora what do you think?" my dad asked me. Oh crap what did he say. I was panicking so I accidentally said the first thing on my mind.
"I think its a horrible idea." I said. Everyone gasped and looked at me."What?" I asked. Cass looked at me as if she was gonna cry. I bit my lip. Jessica and dad comforted her. I got up, "Where's the bathroom?" I asked in a quite tone.
Jessica pointed up the stairs "First door on the right" she said in a super snobby tone, I thought I was gonna throw up as I climbed the stairs.
I almost threw up in the sink. What did I say? I felt really bad. Why didn't I pay attention during the conversation? Ugh!.
I heard a knock on the door. "What!?" I said almost in tears. "Time to go." Val said. "Okay." I said opening the door. I hugged Val tightly. "Ewe gross get off me!!!" he said pushing me away.
I rolled my eyes and followed him down the stairs and to the car.
As we drove home I fell asleep watching the cars pass by.
The car stopped and I exited the car. There was a slight breeze and it felt really good, I waited breathing in the fresh air. Once it started to cool down outside I walked inside and dressed for bed. I finished my routine for bed and then went to bed.
