"Hey mom, hey dad," I said as I walked through the door into my house from school.

"Hi sweetheart, listen we're going to need to talk for a bit," mom said.

"Okay...," I said in a confused tone. There was at least 2 minutes of silence in the room between me and my parents.

"Y/n, your dad got a new job, to become an engineer, in Los Angeles, therefore we're going to have to move."

At first I didn't know what to say. I wasn't sure if I was happy or sad or even mad. I never thought about this event to be the topic of our conversation. Nothing but depression came to my mind when I thought of leaving my best friend, Mahogany, after all we've been through. But still, I was proud and happy for my dad.

"Y/n!" mom snapped breaking my thoughts, "we're starting to pack tomorrow. We'll leave in three weeks."

"Okay thanks mom. And congratulations dad," I said trying hard to give a smile.
