Two Weeks Later
I let out a big yawn while rubbing my eyes. I have been in this library for 5 hours and I'm exhausted. I have a huge biology paper due next Thursday so I'm trying to knock it out the way now, so I can enjoy my weekend.
I took one last sip of my Matcha Latte from Starbucks before adding my final touches to my second draft. Closing my MacBook, I gathered my things up and headed back to my room.
It's been two weeks since my official breakup with Quincy, and Jay whooping his ass. And I can say I'm completely over him. Even though he wasted a couple months of my life, I definitely learned my lesson. That's why I don't regret anything, everything you go through in life is a lesson and makes you stronger.
Quincy has tried to talk to me on campus a few times but I have ignored him. He tried again yesterday and I let him know I don't have any hard feelings and wish him the best in life. But more importantly he agreed to leave me alone, and I hope he follows through.
I entered our dorm to the smell of burnt hair and music blasting. I dropped my bag on my bedroom floor before heading into Kelly's room.
"I see y'all are getting ready early." I teased.
Today is the first home basketball game of the season, which means a mini fashion show. Everyone will be at this game, so of course you have to come with your baddest fit.
"Just doing our hair early. We don't have braids in our hair like you." Michelle said.
I laughed. "Well y'all look cute."
"What you wearing for your man first game?" Kelly teased.
I finally told her and Michelle about me and Shawn kissing and they have been teasing me about it since.
I rolled my eyes. "He's not my man, butttt these white thigh boots and a customized jersey of Shawn's."
"Oh you about to eat down sis!" Nicki exclaimed.
"And you know that!" I laughed. "Also Jay's dad, stepmom, and baby sister are coming too."
"Not Adnis. I haven't seen him in years." Michelle said.
"Right!" I agreed. "I've talked to him on the phone a couple of times, I'm excited to see him."
"Is Mama Gloria and Kelly coming too?" Kelly asked.
"Yeah. Their all cool so no you won't get to witness any drama Kelendria."
"Damn. You know I live for the mess." She laughed.
"I know you do. But let me go start getting ready." I said before heading back to my room.
I stripped down to take a quick shower, after drying my body off and moisturizing I slipped into my robe. I sat at the vanity to start doing my makeup.
"Aren't you supposed to be stretching or something?" I joked answering Jay's FaceTime call.
Jay chuckled. "We just finished pre game warm ups. We just hanging around the locker room now."
"You excited? It's the first home game!"
"I am. You know home games are my favorite, and we already 3-0, so I can't wait to add more wins to the column."
"How many points you gonna score for me tonight?" I asked.
"How many you want?" Jay smirked.
"Mmm." I thought while finishing my eyebrows. "I'm going to need 26 points, 10 assists, andddd 12 rebounds. A cute triple double."
