"Are we there yet?" Starshot moaned, dragging herself along the ground. It felt like forever to this little dragon. "You said it wasn't far!" She moaned again.
"Whoops, I must've forgotten you couldn't fly." Whirlnight giggled, seeming to be springing with energy.
Starshot grunted angrily, dragging herself up to the energetic pup. "Yeah, wow. Real funny."
"Why are you so serious? Why can't you just be calm?" Whirlnight asked, jumping in front of Starshot.
"Because we've been walking ALL DAY!" Starshot shouted angrily, making the pup jump back in shock.
"Starshot... I'm sorry. I'm not good with distances." Whirlnight whined.
Starshot sighed. "Well, someone needs to educate you about that."
"Yeah, I guess." Whirlnight sounded like she wanted to steer away from this topic. Understandable. "So uh... How old are you?"
"Three to four days old." Starshot replied. She looked over to the pup and smiled.
"Three to four days?! How do you know how to talk!" Whirlnight had many questions, and one answer. She had the answer to why Starshot was so small. "Anyway, we're here." Whirlnight slid down a large rocky slide, into what looked like a giant green hole in the ground with a mini waterfall on the side and a river going through it.
"Woah!" Starshot stared down, amazed. She jumped on the rocks, and began sliding down into the camp. The rocks were quite soft and large, some looked like diamonds. Maybe they were. As Starshot was sliding down, a pebble came loose and hit her in the face. She shrieked, before tumbling into a ball and bouncing down the slope. She hit the ground with a large bang, and a red mark on her face where the pebble hit. "I hate rocks." Starshot snorted, getting up.
Whirlnight laughed. "Looks like you copped quite the hit!" She giggled, her fur ruffled from the ride. Whirlnight picked up a pebble laying next to her, causing Starshot to shriek and sprint away. "A fear of pebbles?" Whirlnight asked.
"They're evil..." Starshot stared at the pebble, her eyes were slit with fear.
"How? They're just rocks. They can't do much." Whirlnight laughed a little.
"Well they hurt! A lot!" Starshot growled.
"Agreed..." Another voice was heard over Starshot. She flattened her ears and looked up, staring into the other wolf's yellow eyes. "Whirlnight, who is this?" It asked, quite amazed at the sight.
"Her name is Starshot!" Whirlnight said, bouncing up and down happily
"Is this really a Nightfury?" He asked as he examined the dragon in curiosity. "Having a Nightfury on our side would make us so much stronger... Whirlnight, how did you find her?"
"I found her next to the Aestuo" she smiled proudly. Starshot walked out from underneath the wolf and stared curiously. One of his eyes were cloudy and his muzzle was an angel white. As she stared deeper, she noticed that his eyes weren't just yellow, but around the pupil, were blue. Interesting. The rest of his fur was as black as the night, stars also on his pelt, almost like a universe.
"Hello, kiddo! My name is Solar, alpha of the Abbandoned Ones." He smiled. The wolf looked quite young, but after further scanning, he had scars almost everywhere under his pelt. One large scar across his nose was the only visible scar on his body.
"What's an Aestuo?" Starshot asked, tilting her head with curiosity.
"It's the name for the Glowing Pond. Ancient Language of the packs." Solar lifted his head. "The Ancient Language is complicated, so don't ask about it... Yet, at least. Maybe when your older, Starshot. How old are you?" Solar asked. "Because your very small."
"I'm three to four days old!" Starshot stood proudly.
"Three to four DAYS?! My, I knew Nightfuries were smart, but not this smart!" Solar looked down in almost happy shock. "I have too many questions, but answer me this one- where is your family?" Solar asked.
"I don't know... A Deadly Nadder said that they suffered the same fate as all furies... I don't understand what that means though." Starshot looked down to the grass, worried.
"You'll understand when your older... But for now, welcome to the pack." Solar smiled. "Get a good rest. You have a big day tomorrow..." Solar smiled as he padded off.
Whirlnight's face was written with joy. Her smile went from ear to ear. "Your gonna be apart of the pack!" Whirlnight screeched happily, bouncing off to a den. Starshot followed her happily, as night fell like a blanket on the world.
