"I'm getting real sick and tired of you and your childish ways, your unbelievable laziness, your nasty mouth, and just about everything you do!" Raven stomped to her room for about every time her and Beast Boy tend to argue.
A never ending war.
"And you're not any better than anyone else in this tower!"
"Don't get me started on laziness either, because all you do is sit around and read books, and do your nonchalant meditating. You wear nothing but dark, and when you're mad, your weird tentacles come out and strangle the innocence out of someone! You know what that's called?!?" Asked Beast Boy.
"Creepy, you're the creepiest person I've ever met!"
As if it could be anymore dramatic, tears swelled in Raven's eyes before swiveling around to meet his angry ones.
"You know nothing of what I have to go through everyday to try and not kill anyone in this tower. You know nothing about my past, you know nothing of my heritage, and you know nothing about me." A sharp pause.
"You have no place to say that I'm- I'm creepy. I'm not creepy, I'm just different." And with that, she stormed off.
And just as expected, Beast Boy struck a nerve inside poor Raven. As if she hadn't endured enough of the constant looks of disgust from civilians who happen to cross paths with her. As if the unbearable pain of being left out of everything from her own people wasn't enough to kill the spirit inside of her. No, this was different. It was more than just a word. It was a sharp dagger that repetitively stabbed her until she lie motionless. She felt vulnerable. A slave to the powerful word "creepy".
No more. She said. No more will she ever be held captive by the very thing that shackled her against her will. She lie differently this time. She will overcome this. And as she made way to her beloved room, she made sure to let go of that hurt, the pain, the anger, and the sadness. Because she was stronger than that. She doesn't take kindly to sadness. Raven isn't vulnerable. Oh no. Raven is strong. Raven is emotionless. She doesn't feel. No, that's not her.
Are you? She questioned. Now, she remains inquisitive. Doubt filled her bones and now she finds herself between a rock and a hard place. Oh why, why did he have to muster those words out of his wretched mouth? Now she suffers among her soul as her emotions battle each other inside her brain. Now she lie restless in the bed that served her comfort. Now she lie uncomfortable against the solitude of her own room. How dare he rile her up at a time like this. She was sure to make his night a living hell.
Oh yes. She will. She'll make sure his pillow isn't plumped, she'll make sure it's hard as a rock. She'll make sure to infiltrate his dreams and make them nightmares, she will make him suffer. At least feel a quarter of what she's currently feeling now. Because that's what good demons do.
Oh no. She allowed herself to lose control again. Apparently her glowing eyes managed to make itself aware, and the books and objects that flew viciously across the room seemed to mimick her. Oh no, she wasn't having it. Today she make it the day that no one or one thing mocks her. She snapped back into her rage and raged on. Yes, he will suffer. He must. Who gets to just insult us like that and get away with it? No one. Absolutely not a single soul. We devour them. We make them suffer for their own sake. W-
"Raven!"
Boy Wonder sliced through her rampage like a knife and snapped her into reality.
A wave of guilt washed over her as she come to the realization that she was too engulfed in her own tantrum, she had wakened the leader. Alas, her unbridled emotions showed her up again.
