Chapter 30: Closed Ending

"I'm tired." He'd been complaining about it the whole flight through. Even when they entered the Parisian taxi for the first time together. It had obviously not been Mateo's first taxi ride in Paris, but Fern and Lex had been in awe at everything since the first time they'd entered.

Click click both Fern and Lex's cameras went as they took pictures of buildings, lamp posts, everything really. Mateo watched them both with a fond smile, and they sat impatiently in the taxi to their hotel.

Now, the three of them were in their room, suitcases set neatly by the couch, and Fern hovering above Lex's tired body. Nosing along Lex's jaw and reaching his earlobe, Fern kissed the spot underneath his ear. "You don't wanna have sex in Paris?" He chuckled into his hear. "I thought you'd want to."

"You're the insatiable one." Lex smiled, fingers tangled in Fern's hair. "But seriously," he glanced at Mateo who slowly positioned himself on their bed, having toed off his shoes, "I'm tired. I'm pretty sure I'd die if I did anything right now. Like, I'm exhausted. You know they say-"

They decided to take a day to just sleep in and rejuvenate their energy before doing anything. After that, they'd spend a few days exploring the city before actually attending to what they'd come to Paris for: visiting Mateo's parents.

Waking up the next morning, Lex felt warm with both of his boyfriends on either side of his body. He was facing Fern with Mateo spooning him from behind, where he tucked his smaller body between his muscular arms and against his firm chest.

Smiling, Lex kissed along his jaw and neck to wake him. If he woke up early, everyone woke up early. Fern wriggled a little, scrunching his nose in a way that Lex found extremely adorable. He mumbled something in his sleepy state, snuggling closer into Lex's hands.

Sighing wistfully, Lex pressed kisses on his eyelids and then his lips, effectively waking Fern up who chased his lips. When Lex laughed, both Mateo and Fern woke up, startled until they found the source of the noise, who lay between them.

Unsatisfied, Fern pressed their lips together in a chaste kiss since they'd just woken up, and then the three of them got up to get ready for their day.

"Oh, look! Fern, wouldn't those look good on you?" Lex pointed to glasses similar to the ones Fern wore on a daily basis. "I like the little studs on the side. Can you try them? Please?" Lex was already pulling both his boyfriends towards the shop of which he saw the glasses.

Inside, a saleswoman approached them, asking if they'd need any help in looking for anything. "No but thank you." Mateo answered for them, turning away from the woman to watch as Lex pulled off Fern's glasses and had him try the new ones. "They look good on you." He commented, smiling warmly at the way the glasses fit on his face.

Through the heat of the day and the beautiful sights to see, the three boys laughed and joked and existed. Existed in a world with just the three of them enjoying each other's company and watching the world that wasn't theirs progress around them.

Maybe it was the Parisian air, but Lex felt like he was slipping and falling harder the more he spent with the two most important people in his life (after his family, of course). There was something about the small touches and smiles sent around, or the exchanging of gifts, and it made his heart flutter in the best way.
