DAY ONE
"Argh! Finally! Finally!" I screamed as I threw all the papers I was holding up into the air. Then I slammed my forehead down my table with a relieved sigh.
A gentle laugh came from above me. I slightly looked up to peek at the person sitting in front of me. The afternoon glare of the sun made her long, silky hair shine with a blue hue. Her round, innocent, white orbs glinted with a hint of purple.
"Don't laugh. Not everyone gets to be a genius," I groaned as I slammed my head a second time.
A tender hand patted me softly in the back of my head. I sighed in contentment as I closed my eyes to rest. We had just finished our exams. Unlike my best friend, Hinata Hyuga, I was not as academically inclined. I had to use all my brain powers just to pass a single test. So, just imagine how drained I was at the moment.
"I don't ever want to see a single piece of test paper ever again," I whined, shaking my head down the table–probably turning my forehead red. But I couldn't care less. I survived the exams!
"You'll be in trouble then, Ten," Hinata chuckled softly.
Shit.
Even her laugh was graceful. Just how perfect can a person be?
"It's just the end of the first term. There's still the second term," she continued.
I stood up so fast I felt my world spin around. I closed my eyes tight as I waited for the dizziness to leave. Once I was okay, I glared at my so-called best friend for reminding me of my current status. I knew it was just the first term but I did not want to be told that! I wanted to revel at the fact that I survived!
I survived! Nothing else mattered!
The door of the classroom rattled open so loud all eyes turned towards the sound. There, stood proudly in the middle of the door, was a bubblegum pink haired woman. Her beautiful green orbs shone with excitement as she scanned the room whole. Her eyes passed by me for a couple of seconds before jumping back into mine. Her lips rose into a huge grin as she started for me.
"Tenten!!!!!!!!" she screamed as she dash towards me.
She was in front of me before I could even blink. She put both hands on top of my shoulder and started shaking me. Hard. I head bobbed up and down in the air so fast I couldn't separate the ceiling from the walls. I was getting dizzy. I just knew even my eyes were shaking when the voice of an angel saved me from death.
"Sakura, I think Tenten is about to pass out," Hinata panicked, standing up from her chair.
"Oooppsss," Sakura sheepishly said as she let go of me.
I held my head to physically stop it from spinning. I could hear Sakura apologizing and Hinata's worrying. I closed my eyes for another minute before opening them again. I huffed at Sakura as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"I just survived the exams, Sakura. Are you planning to kill me another way?"
"I said I'm sorry!" she indignantly puffed and I rolled my eyes at her. "I was just excited. You know what the end of the exam means, right?"
It was like a light bulb had lit up at the top of my head at her statement. I was so preoccupied with the fact that I managed to finish my test that I totally forgot. With a huge grin mirroring Sakura's, I jumped up to my feet. We double-high fived as we jumped up and down in mutual excitement.
"See you later, Hinata!" I screamed over my shoulder as I raced Sakura out of the room. "I'm off to the club room!"
Hinata laughed as she waved at us. "Let's go home together, then!"
