Izukus POV

He could remember that day like it was yesterday, the fear that had ran through him while receiving his quirk. He even remembered the meal after, he and kacchan excitedly chattering about the whole ordeal over plates of grub.

He was now the ripe old age of 8, a whole 4 years had passed and things had, changed. He had pretty quickly discovered that his soulmate was indeed Kacchan, the sweet scent rolling from him had been enough to prove that, and he had been getting his heats for a whole year now, decidedly away from his boyfriend as they were both very clearly far too young. Their training was however making leaps and bounds.

The two boys each with big dreams, one of heroism and one of... less desirable means but good willed none the less. The two trained together on weekends but on weekdays while Kacchan was at home doing homework or whatever else he gets up to, Izuku trains even more. Tuesdays and Thursdays are designated homework and play The young man despite his fathers grievances throws himself into training his body and mind into tools. He isn't silly he knows he has big shoes to fill and he wants his mama to be proud.

Hisashi had also had some choice opinions on the boys choosing to attend the local public school due to the very clearly less than stellar treatment of his son within their walls. The boy had insisted that he leave it as it was 'great for improving their acting skills' or some other nonsense. He eventually conceded leaving them to whatever mischief.

The two 8 year olds were always plotting something and sometimes he could swear that his son was a witch, commanding the world around him to his will, plotting schemes and warping fate to do his bidding, but then he'd get his fingers tangled trying to braid feathers into his hair and come crying and the facade would quickly be shattered.

Despite what their school peers would be LEAD to believe the two soulmates were innately intune with each other like the twins from the shining. Izuku despite his advanced training still felt challenged with the other and Katsuki gained endless motivation to improve from the other.

As it turned out public school was also a great breeding ground for Izu's analysis skills, the plethora of quirks creating a delightful pool of variation to study and dissect in his journals, aided by his fathers encouragement and tutelage.

Their advancement was far above that of anyone their age and they felt happy to be at a good place in life despite the prejudices of the general public, little did they know that their small bubble of happiness would soon burst leaving them exposed to the elements.
