Elise blinked as the wind rustled the curtains of her room, snapping out of her haze to realize that the window was left open when she went to bed earlier. Another breeze stirred the room and the girl shuddered, finally getting up to close the window. Distracted, she ended up standing in the middle of her room as she stared off into space, nursing the pain that radiated up into her jaw and the dead weight of her aching arm. Her mouth felt cottony, mind hazy in contrast to the pain spiking out from her injuries. The hospital warned her about this, how the consequences of such a traumatic injury had affected the surrounding areas around it.

Elise...

Can't sleep...

There are some painkillers on the bedside table, right? You can take some to help with that.

Come now. Your brother left some water on your bedside table too.

The girl blinked again, gentle prompting getting the gears in her head to start turning. Mechanically, she moved to take the medicine, jaw cramping painfully as she opened her mouth to take them with some water. Once done, she sat on the floor, leaning against the junction where her bed and bedside table met.

It's quiet right now. I think... I think I need to check up on the Pokémons.

Blaziken made a disapproving noise. Go back to bed. You need sleep.

It's fine. I'll write it out. Or get someone to translate.

If you are sure about it, Blaziken and I will provide support.

The smallest of smiles spread over Elise's face. I knew I could count on you guys.

Always.

We'll be here with you through everything.

Stretching her hand in front of her, Elise formed one Pokéball and then the other. Her chest seemed to hum as her quirk activated, like the activation of powerful machinery. The two spheres landed on the floor, rolling slightly before both opened without prompting, Mewtwo and Blaziken appearing seated on either side of her. Blaziken reached back to grab the pen and notepad on the table and handed them to Elise while Mewtwo used his telekinesis to bring a pillow to her.

'Thanks.' Elise wrote, then bringing up a hand to idly rub at the space in front of her heart. 'But not sure how this will work b/c some Pokémons can't read.'

"We can always translate what you write," Mewtwo said. "Or I could lend my powers to help."

As a psychic type, Mewtwo had many, many abilities borne of the experimentation he went through, some of which he used for communication without needing the anatomical structures to form words. Other powers included passing thoughts directly to someone or mind reading. Considering the atrocious handwriting from her non-dominant hand (her only working hand) filling up the page that even she struggled to read, and the time-consuming nature of writing her thoughts out, it was most likely all for the best that she relied on Mewtwo. After a moment, Elise held up two fingers to indicate the second option.

Mewtwo hesitated as if expecting her to pick the first option. "You are sure? I will have to open up my mind-reading to you."

Elise formed Pokéballs with her hand and held up her notepad once she had three Pokéballs out on the floor. 'Trust you Mewtwo. Told me you can control it really well + you've worked a lot to reach that.'
