"Let's start by going to the nearest urban area! We'll work as a team as much as possible!" Iida directed the class.
"Here, here!" Elise said as she picked up her speed. "Let me help with spotting the injured."
A touch to the temple flashed on her visor as the girl transformed into a Lucario. She activated the aura vision, stumbling slightly as the world around her exploded into headache-inducing arrays of auras. To her surprise, the main culprit was the vividly shining glow coming from Midoriya, blinding her until her eyes adjusted to see the other sights of the monochromatic blue world around her. It took her a few moments to parse out the auras of heroes flitting through the space—bright shining flames that leaped and danced and swirled—from the dimmer 'civilians' trapped beneath the rubble.
There. Two o'clock.
Elise turned off her aura vision and cried out her Pokémon name, pointing over a ledge where the trapped aura was.
Iida was her voice as he directed the crowd. "This way, everyone!"
As they crested the ledge, the cries of a boy became apparent as they saw him nestled between an alcove of crumbed walls.
"My grandpa! He's been crushed!"
Shit.
She pulled short, activating her aura vision to scan for signs of any others stuck in the rubble.
Some of the other students moved past her Midoriya being the first. "What? This is bad! Where?!"
All pretense was dropped as the not-a-boy's expression turned to one of criticism. "What's up with that? Minus points!!!!"
Elise jumped, dropping her sight in surprise. The class group came to a halt as he went off on a barrage.
"First, you need to check whether or not I can walk! My breathing was weird, too, right? And I'm bleeding pretty badly on my head! Those with provisional licenses should be able to take in the victim's condition in an instant and act based on that! Look around you and pay attention! And you!"
Elise took a startled step back as he swung his attention over and pointed at her.
"Communicate better! You were the only one who had the thought to investigate for other victims, but failed in telling your teammates! If verbal communication is a problem, invest in other methods, because in a mass rescue operation, it can mean the difference between life and death. To save people, heroes must be capable of doing many things at once!"
Each piece of advice was engraved into her mind and she nodded. Facing her classmates, Elise swept a paw over the rubble area behind the boy and crossed her arm in an 'X' motion.
No one's there.
Satisfied, he turned to Midoriya. "We're scared, hurting, and worried out of our minds. To have the first thing we hear be 'this is bad' doesn't inspire a lot of hope. Think of what you're working for, what you're trying to inspire."
"Y-You're right," the boy said. He slapped his hands onto his face once and shook himself out, taking a moment before coming back, a large grin on his face. "It's fine! We're here!"
A beat of silence.
"OVER HERE! MY GRANDPA...!"
Everybody jumped back into action.
"We'll save your grandpa!" Midoriya reassured. He spoke to the class next, "I'll carry the kid to the evacuation area. You guys go ahead!"
"I hear them setting up a medical station to the west," Shoji informed, one quirk arm stretched out behind him.
