It took less than a second for (Y/N) to spring to action.

As soon as the elevator doors fully opened, he took off at such speeds that none could react to it.

It took a second for all to realize what was happening. And when they did, they saw that (Y/N)'s fist had gone through the chest plate a robot. The next moment, (Y/N) had taken off the head of another with a kick.

And sound had finally caught up. The screeching of metal being destroyed, the power of a strike that could decapitate a robot and the velocity of (Y/N) came together to create one thunderous crash.

Those in the elevator had only a moment to cover their ears from the already loud sound, but were able to do so because of their backgrounds as special trained soldiers and experienced mercenaries. Still, they became disorientated. A mercenary, a male feline, in Talia's squad even tripped because he couldn't balance himself.

It took them a few seconds to finally catch their bearing, and only then did they notice the lack of fighting occurring at that moment. Ayn, who had recovered faster, looked around to find (Y/N) in what could be described as a 'relaxed combat stance' and several robots in front of him. The robots had white metal plating everywhere except shoulders, elbows, hands and fingers, legs, knees, feet, neck and front of the head, which looked like a CCTV camera. These where frozen in place, some even taking steps backwards.

"Guess this is your lucky day." Said (Y/N), turning his head towards the now recovering group. "You might get out of here without any further casualties."

A second was all it took for one of the robots to lunge at the man, yet it was still too slow to avoid the backhand that took its head. The robots were now all stepping back, some even outright retreating.

Nytro slowly approached him, his sword held in a defensive way in case the robots tried another attack. "Why are they behaving like this?" He asked, shocked at the robots behavior.

"Are these the only type you've encountered so far?" All (Y/N) got as an answer was a nod. "Then we're lucky. These guys, believe it or not, are AIs. These were somewhat mass produced to manage things that weren't important, so their intelligence can be compared to that of a house pet." He looked at the three squads fully. "Stay close to me. They may be stronger than you, but if they know that I'm stronger than them, they won't go anywhere near me. We'll have to hurry, though. It's likely that they are under the command of a more powerful AI."

One by one, the three squads and their leaders approached him before moving towards the exit of the building. While they were leaving, they saw some of the robots who had retreated watching them form a distance. One even tried to attack them, but (Y/N) simply weaved through the soldiers before striking it down. None tried again after that.

"Excuse me, sir." came a voice. (Y/N) looked towards its source and found a female avian, the other mercenary from Talia's squad. "But what was that that you did on the elevator?"

(Y/N) understood that she was talking about EYEs' core and the storage device that was attached to the base of his neck. He also saw some of the other soldiers glance at him. "It's a storage device. It uses programmable matter to both 'software' and 'hardware', but it's designed to record what it stores and only produce the items that it is recording. For example, if I store a gun, it will know what gun it's storing and will use the matter of the gun to only produce the gun."

The avian looked at him with interest, and (Y/N) saw that some of the other soldiers were also interested in what he had said, and he somewhat understood why.
