Juliette Pov

One night, I got a message that week with a rose attached to it. How do I get in without being seen? I grin, already looking forward to his next visit. The east wing has no guards at 2 am

"Pst- Juliette?" I see from the shadows, Ezra.  He uses his finger to motion to follow him.
"One second!" I say, rushing back to my room to drop off the hair clip he had given me in my drawer, which I had been running in between my fingers. I run back, and I follow him, because of course I do. He had been all I had dreamed about lately. A life with him, two kids, a simple life, but a happy one. So maybe when I follow him, I am a bit more eager than I should be, but when I look at him, I just don't care. I can see forever when I look in his eyes. He leads me away and to a little house. "I'm sorry Darling, but I must tie you up for this." and I let him, fully trusting. Ezra's green eyes suddenly grew serious. "I must say love, me bringing you here was merely me trying to spare you from the news that was bound to find you today, and I am currently thanking the Lord that you are to hear this from me." he says regretfully as he picks up a remote and switches on a tv she didn't know was there. "I hope my presence might help you when you hear this."
The local news broadcaster's face filled the screen, clearly looking sorrowful. "I am very sorry to announce that today, on June 24th, his royal highness King Rupert has died of a brutal attack by a group of rebels. We got a picture of one of the attackers' faces. If you see this man, report it immediately  The role of monarch will be taken up by our beloved Princess Juli-"
Juliette let a gasp escape her lips, not hearing any more of it as Ezra's picture shows up on the screen. It is a bit blurry, but she can tell. The betrayal cut through her like a knife to the throat. Her sudden grief was horribly discreet, but as persistent, and almost as silent as bleeding from an unstitched wound. She could not let the killer of her father see her tears fall when this was indeed his fault. A sudden realization came. Her father's killer. She could feel the feelings she had for him seeping out of her as she realized the magnitude of what he had done, and she saw red. How dare this man charm me, and say he wants a forever with me when he was going to kill my father in the process. Was he merely a distraction, forced to make me fall?
Juliette hastily reminded herself that it was bound to happen. They hadn't had a monarch die from natural causes in a millenium. Unfortunately, some of us are just born with tragedy in our blood. Though she couldn't help the betrayal burning in her chest. He tricked me. Into telling him how to get in. At that moment she felt something turn within her, like her humanity was disappearing with her father, circling her. If her tears can not fall, she would not either. She was the Queen now. It would not do anymore to be tied to a chair for the kicks. With that, she grabbed the knife from her pocket, cut herself free with the ease available the whole time and turned to Ezra, who clearly hadn't known that she could escape so easily. Though she saw something in his eyes, that made her blood boil with satisfaction. Fear. Juliettes face blazed with fire and she, without looking, threw the knife in the middle of the TV man's face.
"Mr. Archer, if you have any sense at all, you would run." She said, She was masking her own fear with anger. She was sure that only she knew of the brokenness that was raging inside her. "I am now queen, thanks to you, and I will not hesitate to execute you for your crimes against the throne. I am coming for you, and your rebels."
Ezra studied her face for a sign of a joke, for Juliette had never spoken to him like this.
"Juliette, I didn-'' He started, looking startled.
"Run. Before the little respect I have for you runs dry." He looked like he wanted to argue, but he must have seen something in her eyes, and he ran.
I walked to the throne room, and took my place on the throne.
"Maid." I said staring straight ahead as a maid came up to me. "Tell the general I want every rebel killed."
