So, this is basically a romancey story with some action...Im deciding whether I want more plot or more character building but yeah...it's kinda something new... for me anyways... enjoy~

*also, the cutesy romance-y stuff starts in the next couple of chapters, this is just sort of explaining the situation and stuffs, hang in there :P *

The freezing air nipped at me. I was glad that I was wearing my thick, black coat for once. Underneath, my singlet and tight pants did barely anything to keep me warm. I slipped my hands into my pockets, feeling the reassuring metal of my knives. Strolling up to the large man by the dumpster, I pulled back my hood, revealing my face. I watched him take in my thin, pale face, large, grey-blue eyes, small lips and jet black hair.

"Name?" he asked gruffly after a minute.

"Midnight Tiger" I smirked. He nodded stiffly and let me pass behind him. I rolled the large dumpster aside slighty and slipped into the man-sized hole beneath. I fell a short distance before I landed, on two black-booted feet. I glanced at my surroundings, mentally taking note of the dirty, window-less walls and the few security guards hanging around the corners. I walked confidently to the door opposite me and entered, brushing aside a strand of hair from my face.

The room was much cleaner and larger than the one outside. There were white tiles on the walls and intricate golden carpets. A large plasma screen occupied one wall beside another dark wood door. Several others were already seated, staring coldly at each other, silently. I noticed I was one of the only females. I calmly took a seat on one of the unoccupied plush armchairs set around the massive mahogany table in the middle of the room. A few heads turned to look at me but I coolly stared right back at them. They weren't scaring any one.

All heads turned as the door beside the screen opened and a tall middle-aged man walked in. His dark almost-black eyes watched us as he took a seat at the head of the table. He cleared his throat.

"I see most of you made it" he said in a low, authoritative voice. "I'm sure you are all wondering why you were summoned here today?" he asked in an almost bored voice.

"Peter, the pictures" he said to a small, blank-eyed boy beside him. The boy pressed a few buttons on the remote in his hands and the screen behind him lit up. Several grainy images of masked figures popped up.

"As you can see, we have trespassers. I recieved a call from their leader yesterday evening. It almost made me laugh. They almost did...these, Whispering Winds. They asked for the town" the man said in a slightly amused tone. A few chuckles came from those seated around me.

"As if we would just leave and give it up. You see my...citizens, The Silent Army does not back down. We will not give the town to these...intruders" the man said his voice rising.

"Be careful, watch your backs. They might even be among us already. All of you, be on the watch for suspicious behaviour. I need information if we are to rid ourselves of this vermin" he continued, pinning each of us with his penetrating stare.

"You may leave. This is but a warning. Watch yourselves. I cannot risk losing one of our own" he waved his hand and we all stood up.

"We keep to the shadows. One does not see us nor hear our coming. We watch silently and stalk our prey, waiting for the right moment. Those who defy us do not last. They only join the dead beneath the earth. We are the victorious. We are the survivors. We are the Silent Army" everyone at the table recited. After the last words left our mouths, we began to move out.

"Tiger" I heard the man call as I stood. I turned and walked over, not letting my emotions show on my face. We waited until the room was empty spare the small boy. The man finally smiled at me.
