It was around 9:30pm and Atticus had just wrapped up a long day at work, his work day being slightly extented due to some recent murder. After finishing up some paperwork, he packed his suitcase and left his office, he turned off every light that was still burning. The old building felt eerily quiet, Atticus checked  around the building one more time just incase someone was still busy and locked the door as he walked out.

The streets of Maycomb at this time of night was completely dark, the sun had set quite long ago.

Atticus took a deep sigh and took his usual route home. He walked quietly but swiftly. He could feel a summer wind flow around, the trees were rustling.

"Excuse me, sir." Atticus heard the voice of a woman call out. It took him by suprise, as he looked at the surroundings around him but saw nobody. Standing still in the pavement, Atticus rethinks on how late he's been sleeping lately, maybe it's affecting his mind.

"Excuse me, up here sir." The voice says again, this time he understands the voice is coming from above him. Looking up, he can barely make up the figure of a woman, sitting in the tall tree beside him.
"Don't tell me it's you, (yn)." Atticus sighs and rubs his forehead.

"How'd you know? Is that you, Atticus?" (Yn) smiled, knowing she flicked one of Atticus's nerves.

"What other grown woman in Maycomb would be sitting in a tree at this time of night?" Atticus looks up, trying to make out where she is.
"That's a good question." She chuckled, "So are you going to get off there or will you be spending the night with that old squirrel friend of yours?" Atticus smiled, poking fun at her behaviour.

"Well, actually I'm quite embarrassed to admit I'm stuck up here." (Yn) says, her becoming quieter with every word she speaks.
Atticus chuckles, though he isn't amused.

"Well how are you going to get out? I can't do much." Atticus says.

(Yn) takes a moment to think, "What if I jump?" She asks, "It couldn't be too bad of an idea! Could it, Atticus?"

"I'm not so sure about that. I don't want you injuring your leg like last time. You remember what Dr. Renolds told you? That he's not willing to patch up another one of your-" Atticus gets cut off by the sound of a loud thump.

"I jumped!" (Yn) giggles in triumph, Atticus sighs but smiles soon after.
"And I'm not hurt at all!" She smiles.

"I'm glad. Well then Isn't it time you go home?"

"Not just yet." (Yn) smiled

Atticus looked at her, he knew she would respond like this.
"Why not?"

"Not before I give you a little smooch", She smirked.

Atticus just stared at her, having no particular expression. He was not surprised nor confused, he knew how she was.

"Don't tell me you're saving those lips for marriage." She spoke, "But I understand if you are not willing, we don't particularly have a romantic relationship, do we?"

"I'm afraid not." Atticus says, (Yn) felt kind of embarrassed with herself for his simple answer.
She nods and smiles, "What about a peck on the forehead?"

Atticus thinks for a second and smiles, leaning over and pecking her forehead.

(Yn) was kind of flustered now, she was thinking of ways to make this encounter less unpleasant.

"Thank you." She grinned, internally facepalming herself.

"You're welcome." Atticus replied.

"Now that I've given you your kiss, are you willing to go home now?"

It takes (Yn) a bit to register his words, "yes, alright. I'm happy to go now."
