It's not for some phylosophical reason. No, it's just that Yamori decided to put an blindfold on him. And he put a white one, instead of a black one.
He was taken to the so called leader, a guy with a pretty cool half mask. Although he said they don't really have an use for him and that Yamori can do as he wishes. Turns out what he wished was torture.
He was quite passionate about it to. When he really wanted to kill him because of overexitment he called over Nico and made a wound to the feminine ghoul.
An interesting thing is that Nico's kagune can actually be used to heal ghouls as well as humans. It's a great help for Yamori's torture sessions.
The most common thing is having his finger's detached and put in a bucket. By this time his white shirt was completly soaked in his iwn blood.
Honestly, he doesn't much care about the damage done to his body. He's just upset they took away his black jacket. It might be just an part of a school uniform, but he wore that for a long time and got quite attached to it.
The torture methods are also kind of bland. His beloved kouhais from Hakoniwa were much more creative.
In short, he's very dissapointed with Yamori's torture. Zero out of ten. He's not gonna get tortured by him again.
To begin with, he's got into this situation just because he was a little curious what things in a ghoul organization is like. He can already tell he's gonna get an earful from Rize later.
He heard the door opening with a creack, signaling that Nico and Yamori have returned. However, this time there were more sounds of walking.
Kumagawa:[Hey, guys! Good...Evening? It's kind of hard to tell with a blindfold on.]
Yamori:Yo. You look pretty good for a half dead guy.
Kumagawa:[Ahaha! You wouldn't be the first one to tell me that. So, who are the visitors?]
Yamori:Sharp, aren't ya'? Well, let's get an use for your eyes.
Yamori's picked up his blindfold and Kumagawa could see an grown woman and a little boy. By the similarities he could guess they're mother and child.
Yamori:You know, I know how you feel. When I was younger I got in trouble and send off to Cochlea. There I had meet an sadistic investigator who acted as my torturer. He managed to inflict such pain in me, despise being an mere human. I began thinking of ways to escape it. I began thinking I wasn't the tortured, but the torturer. Right there I felt an close unity with the investigator and for once our roles were reversed. In that moment I felt like a human. I'll never forget that thrill.
Kumagawa:[What an wholesome story!]
Yamori:Point is, I'm pretty experienced in torture. I figured out that physical doesn't do it for you. So, I said to go for the mind. Kumagawa...Choose! Mother or child!? Who do you want to save!?
Nico:Yamori...Your hobby is too depraved. Killing the child's mother in front of him is just...
Yamori:Huh? What was that, Nico?
Nico:You're going overboard. You're normally pretty awful, which can be cool, but sometimes you're seriously sick. Even the way you kill people is...
