I was woken-up by the alarm. I set it up so early in the morning. It's not just me that it woke-up, but also my mother. I walked out of my room to the kitchen when:

"Rey, are you sick? Are you with fever?" she asked touching my forehead to see my temperature.

"No mom, I'm feeling much better than ever. I'm fine, don't worry." I replied with a smile. I took the frying pan to the stove. I took three eggs from the fridge then fried them.

"It's the first time you wake-up early during weekends." She said with a blank expression on her face, "Are you going somewhere? Are you on a date?" she added as she put the plates in the dinning table.

"Yes mom. I'm on a date with Mia today. We'll meet at the town plaza at 9 o'clock" I answered.

"Mia? Sounds familiar"

"Yes, Mia Montecarlos, my childhood friend" I said as I fried the rice after the eggs.

"Oh that Mia" "Wait, it's your first date? When did the two of you started?" she asked with an intriguing tone.

"Yes, it's our first date. I confessed to her last Thursday." I replied.

"Do you have any money? If you don't know, girls are expenses, during your dates; you must be the one to treat her." She said like she was an expert.

I brought the dishes on the table, "Yes mom, I'm always keeping my allowance's excess so I can save it for events like this." I sat down and put the rice and egg to my mother's plate. "Do you want to tell you're father something? I'm going to the post office to send a letter." "Oh, that? Ask him when will he want to go home and to buy me new pair shoes." I said with an excited smile. "And remind him, BASKETBALL shoes not black shoes". My mother laughed at my puny kiddy expression.

After eating, I cleaned the house, washed the dishes and took a bath. I finished all my chores and went out to meet Mia at the Plaza. My mother walked with me to the post office to send the letter to my father abroad.

"Rey, have fun and take care." my mother said as I am walking away while waving goodbye, "You too, take care." I replied.

I arrived early at the Plaza. I watched the birds while I'm waiting. The trees sway from left to right as it wants me to look. I saw a flower above its head and my lips began to smile. My thoughts then brought me to my times with Mia since we were in elementary. I recalled her crying when I fell down from a tree I climbed up just to get a flower that she loved.

Then, I heard her sweet voice calling my name. I stood up as she made her way to me. My world stopped turning. Time seems to freeze. The people around the Plaza seemed to fade, cluster by cluster. I was wonderstrucked by her appearance. Her Long red hair shines as it was hit by the sunrays. She wears a pink blouse paired with a pale-yellow skirt. She was like a goddess descending from the heavens. I cannot speak a word.

"Rey, what's wrong?" she asked

"No! Nothing, it's just that you're really cute." My heart pumped faster causing my blood rose to my cheeks.

"Where do you want to go Mia?" I asked

She held my hand and answered, "Anywhere you want but I prefer to walk around the area first." Her smile made my heart jump. "OK, let's walk around" I said as I led her straight to the arcade. She saw a teddy bear in "The Box with A Big Teddy" and I saw how her eyes sparkled.

"Do you like that bear?" I asked her

"Yes, but never mind. Let's go upstairs and sing." She suggested. I just gave her a smile and told her to wait for me there. I bought 5 tokens and as I walked back to her,

"Hi miss, are you alone? Mind if you'd hang out with us?" a man with a dyed hair asked. "No I'm not, I'm here with someone. I'm told to wait for him here." "Ows? I think you're not really waiting for someone" added by a thin man with piercings on his nose and lips. "No I'm really waiting for my−", she didn't finish what she was trying to say when the tallest of the three forcefully held her arms. They were forcing, no, harassing Mia.

I rushed back as I saw them and gave a running straight punch to the tallest one. I hit him straight on the nose and he fell down on the floor. The one with a dyed hair rushed to me with his fist leveled to his head to punch me. I gave him a huge kick in his ribs. The impact is strong that he cannot stand again as he fell down the floor. I gave a death glare on the thinnest one. He didn't even have balls to attack with only himself standing. He just ran out of the arcade. The others followed. The people are stunned. The guard is asleep after all the ruckus we've done. Mia was so scared. I held her hand and I can feel her trembling with fear.

"Are you alright Mia? Did they hurt you?"

She just nodded and said, "Don't leave me like that again, I'm scared."

"I promise I'll never leave you like that again. I'm sorry." I said. I looked at the clock, its 11:00 am. My stomach grumbled and groaned. Mia suddenly laughed loudly.

"Alright, I bet you're hungry. Let's go there" she pointed at the Tropical Hut Restaurant out of the arcade window. "I bet my Knight-in-Shining-Armor is hungry from all of what happened" she added while laughing her heart out.

"OK, I bet my princess is also hungry." I smiled and held her hand tight as we walked out of the arcade. We left the arcade ignoring the looks on the crowd's face.
