Subterranean- Yeonkai

Arrival

Kai and Yeonjun were sitting in the cleared area outside with a sniper rifle in the general's hands. They saw nothing but orange dust and dirt on the ground. Kai suspected either a drone would come back or a person so they waited.

Yeonjun asked "what do you think they want? I know you said you but what would they want from you?" He laid his head on his husband's shoulders and traced his fingers over Kais'.

"I dont know honey. I just know it isnt good. I cant dismiss the feeling something bad is going to happen."

"If they hurt you, Im going to find them and kill them."

Kai kissed Yeonjun's forehead. "I know baby. Id do the same for you."

They sat in silence for a bit more. Yeonjun didnt want to let go of Kai. He held him tighter by the waist and played with his wedding ring.

"I love you Kai. I cant lose you."

"I love you too baby." Kai turned his head so he could look at the raven haired man he fell in love with. He always got lost looking into his eyes. Pure love shined through them. He gently kissed his huband's lips and said "you'll never lose me. I promised you forever and I meant it."

Yeonjun cupped the back of Kai's head and pulled him down for another kiss. It was sweet and passionate.

They stopped when they heard an engine in the distance. Kai looked through the scope to see what it was. "Someone is coming. A man, roughly your height. Black stealth suit similar to mine. Glowing blue on the sides. Bike looks identical to mine too. He will be here in 5 minutes."

Kai pulled Yeonjun to his feet. The shorter gripped his husband's waist for comfort and they waited.

The bike stopped at the border. It slowly drove into the dust free zone. The blue turned to black as the driver removed his helmet. Jungkook stared at the blonde. He looked even more beautiful in person as if that was even possible.

Kai took a step forward from Yeonjun after handing him his rifle. One hand was in his pocket holding his knife, the other loosely rested at his side.

Jungkook stepped off of the bike and took a step towards the blonde.

Yeonjun saw the lust in the stranger's eyes. He hated him. He now knew why the stranger came.

Kai didnt move as Jungkook kept walking towards him. He stopped about a foot away, still admiring the blonde's features. "You're so much taller than I thought youd be."

"Who are you?"

"Jungkook Jeon. The leader of the subterranen. An underground city about a hundred miles from here. I came once I saw you Kai."

"How do you know my name?" Kai stood in place as Jungkook took another step closer to him.

"Your looks are distinctive. There's no one else in the world like you. Youre unique. How could I not?"

Yeonjun threated "that's close enough. Im his husband. Yeonjun. Why are you here?"

Jungkook didnt bother looking over at him. His eyes were fixed onto Kai's amber eyes. They seemed to glow in against the orange sun. "Im here to see if Kai was willing to come back with me. To tour my city of course. I believe we could combine our civilizations to start a new one together."

Kai was trying his best to read the stranger but it was difficult. Jungkook seemed to have a mastery over his facial expressions that no one else had. The only thing Kai was certain of was Jungkook being very attracted to him. He had to make him slip. "You came here. Would you like a tour of my city first?"

Jungkook did not expect that offer. His hand briedly slipped over his jean pocket to feel the vial. He played it like he was brushing his hand off but Kai noticed. It was a tactic he used with his knife.

His concern grew. "I would be more than willing to give you a personal tour with my husband. Who better than the leader and his second in command? Wouldnt you agree?"

Yeonjun watched Jungkook give the smallest glance at him. He looked upset which only grew his own frustrations. "Do you need to get back to your city? We understand if you do."

Jungkook was challenged. He didnt back down. "They will be okay without me for a bit. Id feel more comfortable discussing a potential alliance in private though."

Yeonjun noticed he broke the stranger's original demeanor. He pushed harder. "Very well. It would only seem fitting for me to call our govenor and his son. How can you have an alliance without discussing the terms with the political leaders of the city?"

Kai was impressed with how easily his husband was unraveling the stranger. He became much easier to read. Jealousy was powerful.

Jungkook composed himself. "Why dont you go grab them then?"

"I think I'll stay here. Come back tomorrow with your leaders and we can all meet together." Yeonjun stared him down. He was not going to let Kai be alone with this person who so clearly wanted to take his place.

Jungkook brushed his hand over the vial again.

Kai slipped the knife out of his pocket and held it at his side. "What's in your pocket?"

Jungkook smirked. Of course Kai saw. The young Huening was so impressive, so full of surprises. He was a mystery that he was dying to unravel. "A backup plan. I wanted to do this the easy way but you both are making this a bit difficult."

Yeonjun threatened "you need to leave. If your plan was to get yourself killed, it was a good one. There isnt a single person more dangerous than MY husband in a fight."

"I know. Thats why he's so irresistible." He took another step towards Kai. Yeonjun wedged himself between them but Jungkook easily brushed him off. Kai went to save Yeonjun from falling and felt something stabbed into his side.

He fell on top of Yeonjun and started gasping for breath. Yeonjun held him and screamed "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?!"

Jungkook didnt say anything. He stood there, smiling, watching the effects take place. He lied as easily as he always did, "you might want to get some help. He's going to die if you dont."

Yeonjun's eyes kept darting between his husband twitching on the ground, Jungkook and the door. Kai's breath began to slow. He kissed his husband and yelled "IM SO SORRY KAI! ILL BE RIGHT BACK WITH SOME HELP! STAY WITH ME BABY! PLEASE!" He ran for the door.

Once it shut, Jungkook knelt down and waited for a minute. Kai's eyes opened. They went from blazing amber to a firey green. The blonde sat up and looked around. "Where am I? What's your name? Why do I feel... safe with you?"

Jungkook kissed him. Kai kissed back. The blonde's lips were so soft. He could get used to this. "Im Jungkook. Your husband. Im so glad youre okay! Lets get you home."

Kai sat behind him on the bike. Jungkook grabbed the second helmet from under the seat and told Kai to put it on. They drove off into the dust.

Yeonjun came back with Amaris, Beomgyu and Taehyun. He dropped to his knees and started crying. "KAI! KAI WHERE ARE YOU?!"

He was gone. They both were. He never should have left. He never should have put himself between them. Kai couldve handled himself. He didnt need Yeonjun to jump into his defense. "IT'S ALL MY FAULT! HE'S GONE AND IT'S ALL MY FAULT!"
