Smuggling a message

Kai was fidgeting with his ring in the meeting he was in. It was a budget meeting about shrinking the funds for the military for services like healthcare without raising taxes. He didnt care what happened. He just listened to Jungkook's reasoning of why raising taxes was the better option. "We're closer to a war than ever. Do you understand that? If we lose, there wont be a city to save! There wont be a city to invest in!"

The general stood up and joined his commander at the front of the table. "Why dont we just install more gambling machines in the restaurant strip? We already tax the hell out of the current ones. It would also bring the restaurants there more money which would have them pay more taxes. Hell, install them in the participating hotels too."

They began discussing the budgetting of that too as Kai and Jungkook sat back down. Jungkook held his hand while his other one rested under his chin. The general was just glad they didnt think his idea sucked.

An hour later, the meeting finally ended and the two leaders went off to training. Kai loved this part of his day because it kept him in shape. Jungkook and him liked to have competitions between each other while teaching. The commander always lost to his general but he didnt care because it helped him improve.

To warm up, they started with a simple yoga class. Then they worked on training people through the various obstacle courses in different bases. Target practice was next then they finished off the day with endurance training. That included a 30 mile run with seemingly endless laps around the gym. Kai led the run with Jungkook happily yelling at people at the tail. A couple soldiers passed out which only ensured they would be doing it again the next day after their other lessons.

When it was all over, Kai and Jungkook went home to shower. The commander got out first so he ordered them some burgers, a salad and some strawberry milkshakes. Kai flipped to the korean drama they were in the middle of as they started eating.

They were heavily absorbed in the show. It was a love story between a doctor and a soldier. Kai waited until they were 3 more episodes in to ask the question that's been on his mind all day. "Can I visit the globe? I want to let them know Im alive and okay."

"Sure."

Kai looked over to make sure he heard that correctly. He paused the show and asked "...really? Are you serious?"

Jungkook raised the eyebrow with a silver ring in it. "Yeah? I do have some conditions though."

"And there it is."

"Kai!"

Kai softly laughed. He smiled and met his eyes again. "Come on. What is it?"

"I still have a couple of vials left of the drug. You can go alone with emerald eyes or with me with amber."

"If you went with me, theyd kill you."

"Would you let that happen?"

"No."

Jungkook was satisfied. "See? So what are you gonna decide?"

Going drugged seemed like the best option except for the mind splitting factor. The pain of that was no joke. There was also the possibility Yeonjun wouldnt let him go. "Jungkook?"

"Yes baby?"

"If I went in drugged and Yeonjun captured me, how long till you come get me?"

Jungkook fully turned to face him now. "Well, let me ask you this instead. Do you think they'd be able to capture you?"

"If the globe went on complete lockdown then yes."

"I can prevent that. Why dont you want me going with you though?"
