When Y/N opened her eyes, warm sun rays were peering through the curtains. The girl groggily sat up, observing her surroundings before concluding she was in her bedroom. Spotting f/c decorations, she nodded in approval. Orion said the gameplay would adapt to her personality and taste, but she did not expect it to be that precise. Y/N was then taken out of her thoughts by a faint knocking on the door.

"N/N? You awake?"

"... Yu-Chan?"

Gasping, the girl covered her mouth. Those words escaped before she could stop them, although it merely made the person on the other side lightly hum before opening the door. Y/N blinked, taking in the appearance of a worried Yushiro... now her brother. The sight almost made her cry, memories she thought were stuffed deep down into her subconscious resurfacing at the worst moment.

"What's wrong? Did you have another nightmare?"

G/Y/N used to have nightmares about her parents' divorce and how it caused the two siblings to be separated for years. She ended up going abroad with her mother who only took her in for compensation money, considering the girl as a bother more than anything. Yushiro did not fare any better with his father, although he got lucky enough to meet Tamayo. G/Y/N, on the other hand, did not have anyone.

When they reunited, Yushiro was ready to commit a murder. He was seventeen when the divorce occurred... his sister was seven. After learning she went through the same things as he did at such an early age, the green-haired man was ready to send some people six feet under. Fortunately, G/Y/N managed to bring him back to his senses.

"I knew it was a bad idea to leave. I'll tell Tamayo and-"

"No, I'm perfectly fine! You need to go, it's too important for the both of you."

Tamayo and Yushiro would be away for the entire school year on a business trip first and their honeymoon afterwards. The two were originally against staying away for a honeymoon, stating G/Y/N's mental state was still too fragile, but she eventually persuaded them to leave and enjoy themselves. They deserved it.

"N/N... tch, fine. Just come downstairs when you're ready."

Y/N nodded as Yushiro left the room. They were supposed to leave today, despite the man's protests about how it was too soon, how they should have waited until she started school. The girl chuckled at her brother's overprotectiveness and expressiveness. It was pleasant to be surrounded by straightforward people... people just like her, although it had not always been the case.

She used to lie her way through anything, at first because she had difficulties differentiating imagination and dreams from reality. Then, because some older people started asking too many questions, demanding answers despite her not having any. Children are easily impressionable, hence they probably thought she was forced into becoming a submissive and sincere person when the complete opposite happened.
