PILOT- My neighborhood

You struggle to stay focused on your
work as the beautiful weather outside calls to you. You're sitting at your desk at home, on an online class. 3:48. 12 minutes away from sweet freedom. This week felt like forever due to being so busy. 10 minutes... You tap your foot on the ground waiting for the moment you can smash the 'leave meet' button in the corner of your screen. A kid on the call  asks the one question everybody is dying to know the answer to, "Mr. Phillips, if we finish our work early, can we leave?" Mr. Phillips said you could leave the class. You clicked the red button you've been staring at for the past hour, got up from your chair and ran outside, smiling as the warm breeze welcomed you.

You sit down on the porch and slide on your roller blades, clicking all of the buckles and straps. You stand up and take off. Rushing down the driveway, the wind through your hair is refreshing. Your neighborhood is a loop. You ride around the loop as fast as you can. 3 laps. 4 laps. Each time around, you pass a large oak tree with low branches. There is one leaf in your reach. You give the leaf a high five every time you pass it. Lap 5, high five leaf. Lap 6, high five leaf. Lap 7, you don't even look as you reach up to touch the leaf. You felt something, but it was not a leaf. It was a hand. The hand grabbed your wrist and pulled you up quickly. You saw a blur of green from the oak leaves as you were pulled upward. You came to a stop and saw yet another hand wrap around your waist, keeping your left arm still. You noticed the hand only had four fingers. And it was yellow. The other hand let go of your wrist and clapped over your mouth, somehow causing you to pass out.
