Meeting Neighbors

After Sally left, Julie asked,

"Ready for the grand tour?"

You didn't want to be rude, she was being super kind after all, so you had no choice but to agree to go with her.

"First stop, Howdy's store!"

We arrived at a small market and went inside. Surprisingly, the items lined on the shelves were normal; fruits, vegetables, hair products, etc. Julie led you to the front desk. The man at the front desk was tall with green skin and... antenna? He had short, blue hair and a red nose. His "antenna" were orange and yellow like Julie's horns. His eyes were soft and kind. It was welcoming.

"Howdy, Howdy! This is Y/N, the new neighbor! Y/N, this is Howdy Pillar, the best store clerk in the neighborhood!" Julie said energetically.

Howdy smiled and stood up to come around the counter to greet you. That's when you noticed he has four arms and four legs. You stared for a solid 5 long seconds. You then realized your mouth was hanging open, quickly closed it and shook one of Howdy's hands. He was wearing a blue striped shirt, orange apron and red pants. He placed another hand on your shoulder and said cheerfully,

"So glad to have a new neighbor! Feel free to stop by anytime!"

You and Julie left the store and continued the tour.

"Next stop,  Frank's house!"

A man with a gray face was standing outside of his house holding a butterfly net. He had short black hair and a long orange nose. He wore a rainbow vest with white sleeves. Julie ran towards him, dragging you along. The moment the man saw you and Julie, he groaned and rolled his eyes.

"Y/N, this is Frank Frankly! Frank, this is Y/N!"

Julie looked at Frank expectantly. Frank said nothing, just stood there with a look of boredom and annoyance. Julie tries to push him in the right direction.

"Frank is super excited to meet you!"

Julie elbows Frank in the shoulder, hard. Her smile more forced.

"Enthused."

Frank says in the most un-enthusiastic way. Glaring at Julie.

Julie lets out a nervous laugh.

"Well, Y/N, let's get on with the tour!"She says, changing the subject.

You and Julie continued down the path to the next house but were interrupted by a small crowd of people whispering about something. The two of you go to see what was happening. The crowd consisted of a giant blue dog, Sally, a bird, and Howdy. They were gathered around a man holding a letter with a heart on it.

"What's going on?" Julie asked.

"Eddie's in LOVE!!!" Squealed Sally

The blue dog chuckled and said, "He's finally got enough courage to confess!" He was wearing a rainbow vest and a small red hat. He also had multicolored spots all over his body.

"Oh my goodness! Is it Frank?" Julie asked excitedly.

Everybody nodded.
You have no idea who Eddie is, nor the blue dog or bird. You just stand there in confusion. Thankfully, Julie noticed your expression and said,

"Oh! Silly me, I forgot to introduce you to everybody!" She called out, "Everybody, this is the new neighbor, Y/N! Y/N, this is Barnaby Beagle, Poppy Partridge, and the love bird, Eddie Dear!" She said, pointing to the dog, bird, and the man with the letter.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Y/N!" Said the bird known as Poppy. She was a red bird with rainbow feather tips and tail.

"I'm so excited to have a new neighbor!" Said the dog, Barnaby. He picked you up and swung you about like you were a doll. He eventually put you down and you nearly lost your balance.
