It took exactly two and a half months to completely transform the burned-down apartment in New Orleans. I made sure every room was perfectly set up. No piece of furniture misplaces, and all the glorious dark floral wallpaper made the place simmer in gothic sunshine.
I think I really outdone myself with this project. Dear Lestat allowed my free range over the flat and I couldn't have been happier.
We now all live in this wonderful, gloomy haven. At first, it had been just the three of us for a few months. Lestat and Louis got along well. I watched them become close friends once again. Brothers, they were more like.
But then a year later I asked Jesse to permanently flock with our little coven. She had been recently turned vampire by her very dashing boyfriend Marius. I'm not even sure how that pair came to be. Now they both occupy the spare bedroom on the top floor.
Lestat and I are currently sitting out on the balcony. Welcoming the fresh New Orleans air. He sits and continues to read the recent newspaper while I go through numerous bridal catalogs.
Jesse has been instant on me finding the perfect dress. I think this is a good thing for her as well. Just because we are now vampires don't mean we have to stop our human traditions. That's partly the reason why I want to marry Lestat.
I've asked him many times over the last year if he thought the whole idea to be silly. I always get the same answer. he will marry me ten times over if it will make me happy. That conversation usually has us ending up beneath the pale pink silk sheets of our shared room.
"Find any to your liking?" Lestat poked through my concentration.
I place down a hefty wedding magazine with a sigh. "They are all so damn pretty. I can't pick just one. Maybe I should go to a shop and get the first gown I see."
"Maybe you should." Lestat also sat his paper down to grasp my hands across the small round table.
My lips form a smile at his touch. The dark blue tunic he wears makes his milky skin shine under the bright moonlight. I will never tire of gazing upon him.
"Would you go with me?" I asked him.
"Of course." He didn't hesitate to say. I see so much change in him. He isn't quick to scoff or laugh. I like this new Lestat. As if he finally matured.
His smile became brighter after he read my thoughts. I have nothing to hide from him.
"I thought grooms weren't supposed to see the dress until the bride walks down the aisle?" He asked playfully.
I quickly swatted his hands away. "I think we both are far from being a traditional pair."
He nodded his head in agreement.
"I'll make an appointment at the shop down the block. I've been window shopping with Jesse and I found a few dresses to my liking." I say and turn my eyes back to the busy streets.
People going bar hopping, others singing away with the warm breeze.
Lestat chuckles brightly.

I spent the next two weeks actually planning this wedding. From the advice Louis and Marius gave me I now know marriage isn't something vampires do with each other. Good to know that I'm breaking vampire social norms.
I've managed to book the most gorgeous venue just outside the city. A really amazing place that was more than willing to have the ceremony take place during the night.
All the decorations were going to be handled just like I want them to be. Though I had lots of help from Jesse. She is the most coordinated of us. Planning a wedding isn't the same as decorating an apartment it seems.
Now I'm sitting in the waiting area of this really nice bridal boutique. Lestat sits next to me. His hand was placed on top of my shaky knee. I don't know why I'm so nervous about this.
Soon a young woman with golden hair approached us.
"Hello, you must be the bride?" Her Texas accent filled my ears as she reached to shake my hand. I took her hand in mine gently, very careful about my grip.
"And who might you be?" She moved to shake Lestat's hand.
"I am the groom." He said as their handshake didn't last long at all.
His French accent graced my ears and heart at that moment. I'll never get enough of his voice.
"Alright, why don't yall come here in the back and tell me all about the wedding."
My nerves quickly disappeared.

I find it ironic how I could never find a husband under my father's dying roof. Here I am now, on my second life in this world, turned into a blood-drinking demon, and having a final dance with my husband Lestat before the sun rises.
The vow ceremony was truly warm and perfect. I cried and so did Lestat. There is a simple silver band that rests on our ring fingers. A small symbol of our eternal love.
My head rests on his velvet-covered shoulder. The velvet material of his suit was a deep purple that shined beautifully in the candlelight. His hair was blonde and curly as ever. He didn't bother with it.
I wore a very unique wedding gown. Something I would have never pictured myself in. The dress hugged me tightly in the bust and flowed out in silk waves. Its sleeves are crafted from pure dense lace fabric.
My bright red hair had been pulled back in a tight bun. A small braid had been wrapped around it.
Lestat continues to caress my lower back as soft music plays around us. I smile into his chest. I don't want this moment to ever end.
"We can get married as often as you like." He whispered into my ear.
"I don't think anything will be able to top this." I smile and open my eyes to the sight around us.
It was a great idea to rent out this old rustic ballroom in the very first town hall of New Orleans. I was surprised that it was still standing after all this time. Turns out the city still uses it for small community events.
Suddenly Lestat pulls away from me. The soft pretty music stops.
"What's wrong?" I ask. My heart beating faster. Have I done something wrong?
His lips lifted into a grin. My eyes squint in confusion.
"I never knew love could feel like this. You are mine. I am yours. Nothing will ever rip us apart again. I'll burn the world down for you. My love, my Jake, my Sweet." He says before kissing me softly.
His lips are soft and cold. They taste of old blood, my blood. We shared each other for the first time last night. A spectacular feeding for us both.
A moan fled my lips as Lestat retreated back. I knew then all was going to be right. Nothing would stop our love.
"I think I loved you the moment our eyes locked when you opened the coffin. Even then I knew I was going to be yours for the rest of my life."

A/N - This was never planned! I literally just thought about doing this out of nowhere. It sounded like a good idea at the time. A very out-of-character moment.
I hope yall like it either way!
