Techno's POV:
After a while of reading i took a glimpse of Dream sleeping and i stopped, i kinda wondered if it was my voice that soothed him to sleep or if he just got bored of listening after a while. This was a book about The Ennead, which surprised me. If he's interested in egyptian mythology then would greek mythology intrigue him? If so then... he probably wont escape me talking about it for hours on end. And that would probably push him away since literally nobody ever cares to hear me talk about greek mythology... and it's a bit upsetting because i really liked it.
I pulled the bookmark over the page and closed it. An unacknowledged sigh escaped my mouth, i wasn't sure why but once realising he was asleep my mood suddenly dropped. How was i gonna spend my whole possibly sleepless night when he wasn't awake with me?
I put the book back in the compartment of the nightstand and sat back on the chair, my gaze was constantly searching for an occupation.
My eyes landed on him again, his breaths were slow which confirmed me that he was actually asleep. Never felt the need to check if someone is asleep before. I wonder if it is as he said? If he's actually having a very gruesome nightmare right now...
... Should i wake him up then?
No.
I'm just trying to find myself an excuse to keep him awake right now. How selfish of me...
I would return home but to what use? It's not like i'm gonna fall asleep. Plus during these times i just leave and stay anywhere but home.
I flinched once something touched my hand, it was Dream and he was shuffling in inside the sheets. The movement wasn't too frequent, but it made me wonder just what is he dreaming about? It hasn't even been 5 minutes by now and he already seems frustrated. As i examined at him i couldn't help but imagine how his eyes looked behind the mask, thinking about him with his eyes closed and eyebrows arched. What eye colour would he have? Brown? Hazel? Green? I wonder how would Amber eyes fit him, i bet every eye colour would match him beautifully. I mean- he'd just look good in any eye colour, in a versatile way.. it was just a compliment it's not like i can't find myself unable to think about something else. Eh, dammit why is my inside voice so descriptive about this!? I should just shut up.

"Mom.." Dream blurted out in a slurred and quiet way.I glanced at him, he was shuffling even more frequently.
"Don't leave me..."
...
A tiny sadistic voice in me told me to wait even further, to hear just what else he'd say in his subconscious. But that would be wrong, but intriguing...what am i saying? This is absurd i should wake him up.I waited for a minute or so, he kept muttering inaudible things that i couldn't make up. I gently started shaking him by his arm.
"Dream, wake up" I made sure to be quiet, i didn't wanna starte him somehow.
After a second i stopped once his hand brushed me away, he got up and he seemed a bit confused for a second as if he had just forgotten where he is. He was sweating like crazy, and i just stood quietly because i didn't know what to tell him, i didn't figure out how should i comfort him.

"When did i fall asleep..?"My gaze lowered.
"About a few minutes ago"
I wasn't sure if what i did was good or not, after all, nightmare or not he still needs to sleep even if it is psychological torture.
