The world can be so negative
A place of darkness and despair
Where people are not so pleasant
And life can be so unfair
The future looks uncertain
And the present overwhelming
The darkness that surrounds us
It's the world that keeps us from soaring
We feel lost, alone and confused
As we try to find our way
The suffering and pain
It's all too much to take
The world is filled with sadness
It's hard to find a glimmer of hope
But if we can come together
We can find a way to cope
The darkness that overwhelms us
Can be overcome by love
By understanding and acceptance
We can rise above
The world can be so negative
But when we come together
We can find the strength to push through
And make a brighter future
