*Eris POV*
Standing in a circle with my siblings, staring around the dirty alleyway we landed in, I glance shortly at Cairo. He nods at me, and I know for sure it's him, when his eyes flashes the color of his real eyes.
"Do you guys remember this language. I know a few others, but we physically can't speak dragon" Ezra said to us, in what is called 'English', stupid name, but I understood what he was saying.
"This is the most recent language from our lessons, so it makes sense we remember it the best" Callum says to Ezra. He nods, looking at us
"I have the most speaking experience though, and we all know why."
"Because the first person you ever loved was human?"
"A god, first of all, and he spoke Asgardian too." Ezra answers me indignantly.
"He? Aw, Ezra's embarrassed he liked a dude" Cairo teased. I smack his head,
"You do too, shut up brother" I scold. Cairo blushes, even more evident on his mortal face, which I'd assume he looks like me to an extent.
"That's enough you three, we need to study the rules of this city, we're not royals, we can't just do whatever we want here." Callum says, switching to big brother and crown prince mode.
"Agreed, let's wander. Aria, Theo, you two in front, I want to keep an eye on you." Ezra says.
"Ezzzz, were 300, we can take care of ourselves."
Theo complains.
"Exactly! That's like, 15, in dragon years, just because we're on Midgard doesn't mean you can use their years." Callum say, pointing towards the front. Ezra eyes me and Cairo, and we move in front of Everett and Rhea. Ezra and Callum high five behind us. Aria is scanning one side of the street, Theo the other. Aria points out an intricate building with the words 'Public Library', and Ezra tells her good job, and we all cross the street, wandering into the library. Ezra says it closes at mortal sundown, and we all set off, absorbing mortal literature we enjoy. Ezra and Callum are studying law on a couch together, Everett was reading a book called 'Percy Jackson', Rhea, a random book about forest fires.
Cairo and I grabbed two copies of  the first book in a series called 'Wings of Fire', because it had a dragon on the front, as horribly inaccurate as the depiction of our kind was. Aria was reading 'Harry Potter' and Theo was studying prisms. Why are half my siblings nerds?

It's hard to tell how long we were really reading, the English texts were something we had been instructed to read as homework back home, though the literature there was much more boring. We all naturally excelled at reading, burning through the books with ease, quickly losing track of the odd mortal time system. Ezra says my name when he's listing our names in his 'pay attention this is important' voice, so I snap away from the third book in my series, and I realize it's quite dark outside. I stand from where I was quite comfortable, filing out the library door with the rest of my siblings.
"Wait, Ez, where are we sleeping?" I ask, stopping mid-step and turning around. He sighs, looking down.
"Well, this is what I've been avoiding. The....street?"
"Hell no! Ez, we're royals we don't deserve to-"
"Eris. We are not royals right now. Do not raise your voice to me." Ezra says, voice even and calm.
"Fuck you Ezra, we're royals whatever planet or realm we're on. I'm leaving." I snap, turning, storming off. I can hear Ezra tell me to stop. But only once. I don't get why, though it doesn't matter. I'm gonna find somewhere for me to sleep, and be treated properly. Sleeping on these nasty ass streets. Might as well go home. I run into something, and I turn, assuming it was a wall.

Walking on, I run into another wall. Confused, I see three chests in my way. Their arms are crossed, eyes glowing, hair similar length. One of them looks familiar. It's Cairo's eyes. I glance over, Ezra and Callum's eyes stare back at me. Half-Dragon form. They're tall. Way taller than me. Cairo grabs my wrist, concern evident in his eyes.
"Eris, we're going to find a rooftop, and I'm gonna clean it with Everett. Please, calm down. These mortals, they're horrible people, they could take you and,"-his voice cracks, tears welling up in eyes, but he blinks them away. "They could just really hurt you, we don't know what they're capable of. Just don't run off, please Eris, please." He stares into my eyes, and I nod. He shrinks back down, pulling me into a hug, which I reciprocate, then turn back to my siblings. I mumble an apology to Ezra, who nods and flashes me a smile, back in his full mortal form as well.
"Let's go, it's getting plenty late." Callum breaks the general silence.

Walking for a while, Cairo floating up and checking rooftops, he finds one mortals can't access on a normal day. He floats us all up, and I decide on the way up I much prefer the ground when I'm out of dragon form. On the roof, Everett is also half dragon as he uses water to scrub the rooftop. I shift half dragon, lifting dirt from off the roof. How does one even get dirt on a roof?
It takes a while, but we finally finish cleaning up the rooftop. There's not any comforters or pillows, no shit, so we all just lay with our twin for warmth, our arms become our pillows. I slowly drift off to sleep, already missing Aldine. How could mother and father just make us leave like that? Is it really safest in a new realm where we know no one, couldn't we have stayed somewhere in Aldine, with a few guards. My constant thinking was interrupted by the pull of sleep, and I fall into a light sleep.

*Timeskip to 6am, sunrise*
I roll over to the sound of creatures making high pitched chirping noises, flying around above us. The Midgardian sun has just begun to rise above the horizon, the sky washed in golds, pinks, and light blues. It's quite pretty, but I'd have to say the Aldinian sunrise is much more beautiful. I roll away from Cairo, careful not to hit anyone else as I stand, stretching my muscles. I wonder if I could get down from here without Cairo. I pondering for a minute, I decide not to, mostly because there's nothing for me to do when, and if, I succeed in climbing down. Sitting down next to Cairo, I play with a few pebbles, waiting for the rest of my siblings to wake up.
Aria wakes up first, shielding her eyes from the sun, stretching and yawning. Gradually, the rest of them wake up, Cairo last. Ezra looks a little shaken, but we all have our fair share of bad dreams, and it's nothing new, especially for him. Cairo lets us down slowly, and we start our adventures on our first day in Midgard.
