"Liam James Payne, I swear to GOD I am going to kill you." Eva screamed into the phone.

"I'm on the other side of the world, Love." Liam answered calmly.

"Yet you somehow managed to send me a CAR? What am I going to do with a car? I don't need a car! I live four blocks for school and work. I don't know how to drive on the wrong side of the road! I don't have a license for here!"

Dylan was jumping around her in happy circles like a puppy with a new toy. "I'll take it! I'll drive it! It's adorable! Did you look at it? It's a CONVERTIBLE mini cooper! It's blue. I love it! I'll drive it! Give me the key!"

"See what you've done? She's going to wet herself." Eva and Dylan had a struggle over the key which resulted in Dylan getting her hand smacked and not getting the key. She could hear him laughing on the other end of the line. "I swear to god, Li, you are not allowed to buy me a car. I don't want it. Please send someone to take it back."

"I can't have you walking home at 1am, Evie. It's not safe. You need that car to keep you safe."

"Evangeline! And it would be a further walk to the parking lot rather than me just going home!  And I can't park it on the street. "Eva roared. "You get this thing GONE!"

"Just one drive, Eva? Please? We can pick up Emma and Marian! We can have a fun day out! Girl's day! Please, Please, Please!" Dylan began to beg.

"Liam." Eva said into the phone.

She heard him sigh on the other end of the line. "Promise to get on the bus." he said.

"I'll get on the bus." Eva promised.

"I swear, Evie, if anything happens to you..: he started to say.

"Nothing will happen to me. You'll be home by next Friday anyhow. And it's not that I don't love it, Li, but I just...gas...and parking permits...learning to drive all over again...It's just too much right now." Eva tried to explain.

"I'll get it picked up."

"Thank you, Liam. I don't mean to be ungrateful. I don't mean to be a brat." Eva began again,

"You don't have to explain. You win. You told me I'd never win again. I should have listened. I...I just miss you. I need to see you..."

Eva could hear the pain in his voice. She missed him, too. She sat at the kitchen table and covered her eyes with her free hand, then rested her head in her hand. She breathed deep, trying not to cry. "I miss you, too." They both sat in silence, unsure of what to say next.

Suddenly, Dylan stomped her foot and yelled, "You suck!" and went up the stairs, banging and cursing under her breath.

They both laughed, glad that Dylan always knew just what to say.
