Later that night, Eva lay looking into the darkness. "Liam" she asked "Do you ever think about the future?"
Liam was laying on his stomach his face toward her. "Whatca mean?" he asked, his voice full of sleep.
Eva laid on her stomach and faced him. "Like, five years from now. Where do you want to be? Because, I'm thinking about my classes. Like, do I want to be a publisher? Do I want to sit around and read books all day and correct other people's spelling and grammar?"
"You think too much. Go to sleep."
"Seriously! Where do you want to be in five years?" she pleaded.
"Honestly? I hope this 1D thing has winded down. I hope that I'm in bed, with my wife, asleep."
"That didn't help me at all, Liam!" she groused. "What is your wife like?"
"Well, for one thing, she lets me sleep." he said.
"Humph!" Eva said and rolled over.
Liam sighed. Why couldn't she just go to sleep? It had been a great day and now she has to start this? He had to think of the perfect thing to say so that she would be happy, drop it and go to sleep. "Okay, truth. I have no idea what I will be doing in five year. I would love to say that we will be married, have two point five kids and live in a huge house with a pool. The fact is, it's too far out for me. Why don't we work on the here and now? I love you. That's the best I can say for now. My life is crazy and I'm not prepared to say 'for always' right this second."
Eva lay in the dark and thought about his words. She was only 18. Was she being unreasonable? Okay, he wasn't going to say I love you, always, right now. But he had promised to be around as along he she wanted less than a month ago. She was overthinking. She always did that when she couldn't sleep. Instead of answering him, she pushed herself into his body until her head was under his chin. He rolled on his side, put one arm around her waist, pulled her close and was thankful that the storm he felt coming had passed.

Liam's cell rang early the next morning. "What?" he asked in a groggy voice. "No. I don't golf. I don't like it!" he said. He listened for a second. "I'm sorry you need someone to go with but...
"I golf! I am good! I went with my grandpa every Saturday!" Eva yelled out.
"Evie. No, you are not borrowing my girlfriend for an hour so you can hit golf balls." Liam listened for a second. "You are an arse, you know that right?" He turned to Eva. "Niall wants to drive an hour away to go to a golf dome but he doesn't want to go alone."
Evie grabbed Liam's phone. "I'll go! I love golf. Come get me!" She threw the phone back at Liam and headed for the shower. Liam just laughed. She wasn't kidding. She really was a 60 year old woman on the inside.
Later, on the car ride, Niall asked how long she'd been playing. "I think since birth? I've always played. My whole family does."
"So, you're good?" he asked
"Well, I'm not bad!" she laughed. She proved it as soon as they arrived at the Dome. First, she was picky about the club she would use, rejecting two of the rentals before taking one. Then, she let Niall hit first, promptly beat him, hitting it 10 yards farther than him.
"Well, I think I found my golf partner for the tour. Jesus!" He exclaimed.
Eva laughed. "Thanks, I think? But, no one has asked me to go on any tour."
"Really? We start back up in April. Rehearsal starts next week. I'm surprised he hasn't mentioned it."
Eva thought for a second. "Well, I'll still have classes in April, so I'm sure I can't go anyhow. Plus, that's like months away."
