True to his word, Liam texted that he would pick her up at 7. She spent most of the day trying to decide what to wear. She and Dylan finally decided on a decent pair of jeans and a lacey white top. Dylan bemoaned the fact that none of Eva's clothes "fit." "They fit FINE, Dylan. Stop it! You are making me nervous." Eva snapped. It's okay, she thought.  This will work at McDonald's or Applebee's.  Did they have Applebee's here? Liam hadn't told her where he was talking her and she didn't want to ask. It seemed too pushy.

"All of your clothes are a size too big. Why? Maybe I'll get one of my tops. I've got a few that would fit. You fit in my dress last night. Let me go look!"

"It fit because it was basically spandex. I felt squished all night!  You are skinny and tall. I can't wear your clothes." Eva countered.

The doorbell chimed. Eva and Dylan turned, looked at each other and screamed. He was really here! Eva ran out of the door and down the stairs. She didn't want Dylan to embarrass her again. Breathless, she opened the door. Liam was standing there in a suit. A suit! She couldn't go out in jeans if he was wearing a suit! "Uh, come on in," she began. "I just have to change really quick. Sorry."

Eva turned and bolted back up the stairs.  Dylan was still in her room, looking in her closet. She turned and saw that Eva looked terrified. She was breathing heavy and holding her stomach. "What is wrong?" Dylan asked.

"He's wearing a suit." she whispered.  "a suit."

Dylan dropped her hands from the clothes she had been examining. "A suit? But! But! It's just dinner. A suit? Where is he taking you? You don't even own a dress!"

Eva looked up into Dylan's eyes. "Help me." she begged. She could feel the tears starting.

"Okay, we can do this. Wait here."

With that Dylan flew out of the bedroom and downstairs. Eva could hear her talking to Liam, but she couldn't make out the words. Her head was spinning. She didn't own a dress. She didn't like dresses. She looked around the room in a panic, wondering if she could make a dress out of her shower curtain.  If Scarlett O'Hara could use drapes, why couldn't she use a shower curtain? "Because it's covered in fish, you dolt!" she thought.  She felt as if her head was going to explode.

Dylan burst back into the room. "Okay, he's taking you to that new French restaurant downtown. You cannot wear jeans." She pulled her phone from her back pocket, pressed a few buttons and held it to her ear. "Emma! I need a dress! Well, not me. Eva. She has a date and no dress." She listened for a second and turned to Eva. "What size do you wear?"

"8" Eva answered.

"6" Dylan said into the phone. "Okay. The new French place downtown. Okay. See you in two." she said and hung up. "Emma has something that might work."

Eva sat on the side of the bed, trying to breathe. She was starting sweat, which would ruin her makeup. Time passed slowly as she waited to see if Emma had a dress that would fit her. Why hadn't she asked?

They heard the door open. A voice yelled "I've got it! I'm coming up! Oh! Hi!" followed by footsteps running up the stairs. Emma dashed into the room holding a dress bag and said "Why is Liam Payne sitting at your kitchen table?"

As Dylan explained, Eva pulled the dress on. It was black, with spaghetti straps. The top was fitted and has a sweetheart neckline.  The bottom was a very full skirt with tulle under it so it held its shape. It was perfect.  Old fashioned enough for Eva to like, but fancy enough for a nice restaurant. Dylan zipped her up and sighed with relief. "It fits. Don't move!" Suddenly both girls attacked Eva with hair clips, bobby pins and lipstick. When they finally let her look, she was amazed. They had managed to get her hair up with just a few curls draped around her face.  Her face looked perfect. Just enough lipstick and eye makeup to let you know it was there. Somehow they had make her eyes look bigger and greener that normal. She was stunned.

"Oh my GOD." she exclaimed. "What have you done to me? I look good!"

"No time to explain." Emma said. "That is vintage Valentino. Do not mess it up or my mother will know that it's gone! I'm going to be so dead." she giggled.

Eva shoved her feet into the black heels she had worn last night. Turning to Dylan and Emma, she started to tell them thank you.  "Go!" Dylan said. "You can pay us back when you get me Louis. She wants Niall." pointing her thumb at Emma.

"Which one is that?" Eva asked.

"You SO do not deserve this." Dylan huffed and pushed her out the door.
