THE LOVERS (Rain Ghoul)

"SO, WHOS THIS?" The voice of a ghoul named Mountain was heard. The four pairs of eyes that were once elsewhere all snapped over to the sound. Sure his voice was meek and quiet but they all still heard it clearly. Emeritus cleared his throat and shot a glance over towards the female next to him before speaking.

"Right, this is Athen she's a-"

He started but weirdly enough he couldn't finish his sentence before a female voice finished for him.

"Vampire!" The voice squealed and before Athen or anyone knew it two female ghouls stepped forward and stood infront of her.

"Unholy shit, hi!" Another soft female voice said. Every ghoul had masks on so she couldn't really see their faces but she could tell they were just beautiful.

The vampire smiled and nodded in greeting toward them. "Hi." Athens soft voice made way.  Rain, who was still staring intently, felt his eyes widen at her voice. His heart beating even faster in his chest. So quick in fact he felt as if it would implode. 

The girls in front of her grinned widely and began complementing. "Oh my you're so pretty." One said, picking up a strand of light blonde hair and looking intently at the color. The vampire laughed and smiled. "Thank you."

"Fuck, she's so cute do we get to keep her?" The other one said, looking at Emeritus with wide, watery eyes.

The male in question and the ghouls behind them chuckled. "Athen's staying in a room upstairs, she just got here and wanted to meet you."

The vampire flushed at the call out and looked down. A male ghoul laughed and spoke. "Damn, for a creature so vicious she's actually adorable."

Athen looked down in embarrassment and flattery. The call outs left her meek and anxious but the compliments and jokes made her smile and if she were alive she would've blushed.

Rain felt his body fill with envy and jealousy as he watched her look down and smile, but he didn't say anything. He couldn't. The male had just met this girl. Not even met, got introduced too. She didn't even know his name or who he was. He knew they were going to get close, they had too. But they haven't yet.

So in unsureness he only shot Dewdrop, the ghoul who spoke, a glare. Dew only raised his hands in mock surrender and smirked.

Emeritus looked at the two female ghouls and signaled them to get back by the others so the two stood alone in front of the rest. "If you would introduce yourselves for her, please."

He nodded his head toward the end of the line where one different girl and the two other females were once again. "Oh I'm sunshine!" The first one spoke, smiling softly.

"Cumulus." The next grinned and nodded. "I'm Cirrus." The last female spoke, smiling softly as she leaned against the arm of a couch. Athen nodded in greeting towards all three, smiling back.

The male that was seated next to Cirrus grinned lightly and nodded as he leaned all the way back. "Swiss."

Another male who was lanky and tall sat beside him. He seemed shy so he only nodded and looked down before speaking softly. "Mountain." 

"Dewdrop at your service ma'am." The next spoke before she could greet mountain. It caused her to laugh and lightly nod at him.

The second to last male rolled his eyes behind his mask before greeting. "Nice to meet you Athen I'm Aether." He spoke formally and nodded. Athen appreciated it but only smiled back.

And then there was one, leaning against the wall stood the one Athen couldn't look away from earlier. Arguably shorter then the other males, brown tussled hair, chocolate brown eyes. Undeniably attractive despite the mask.

Her dead heart would've been pounding out of her chest if it still gave beats.

His eyes were already on her as she looked over his face and body language. Rain felt a sense of pride as he got taken in my his soon to be mate. It made him feel good and fuzzy. Wanted as well. It made him feel wanted. A feeling he hasn't felt much in his years.

He opened his mouth to speak, Athen watching him intently. "Rain. I'm Rain."

When the sweet melody of his voice fell past his lips Athens mind went hazy. It made her smile in a drunken looking state. Wanting to soak in more of the sweet sound.

The male, noticing the smile, almost fell to his knees. She smiled at him. It made him weak in the knees. His heart pounded. Mind went fuzzy and his eyes widened. Fuck.

He just met her. But hell that smile made his brain, heart, and body check it's self as hers. A simple smile made him hers unknowingly.

"Nice to meet you Rain."

The male gulped softly. He was the only one she greeted verbally which made his pounding heart worse.

The rest of the ghouls smirked and watched the two interact. Emeritus looked in envy but fondness. Mates are mates. He couldn't do anything to break it up. It had to happen. But hell it still hurt.

Athens first night there and she already had two males wrapped around her pale pinky. But only one already had her unbeating heart.

Reese speaks!

Short chapter. I'm sorry I just needed to get something out. I know it's not great but at least it's something yk.
