Chapter 5 - the heelers

Leon was in a lot of pain as his arm bled, but he managed to pull himself out of the stream and onto the rocks. He inspected his arm; it looked broken and had a wound on his forearm that was bleeding a lot. He waited 4 minutes, and eventually Bingo, Bluey, and their parents' called Chilli and Bandit. "Sir, we brought Hel-""Bluey; let me and mom do this, ok?" Bandit interrupted. "Ok," she said, "sir, are you alright?" Chilli asked, "No, my arms are broken; I fell off the rocks and into the water and landed on my arm on some sharp rocks when your children scared me." Leon said, while in pain, "Kids! Why would you do that?" said Bandit. making Bluey and Bingo feel guilty. "No, no, don't blame them; I just overreacted. Names Leon M- I mean Russell, I'm 14 and I'm from..Scotland." Leon said this while still groaning from the pain. "Well, Leon, it's nice to know—wait, your only 14?" Chilli shouted in shock. Leon replied, "Yes, I am 14." "Oh, my lord, we have to bring you to the hospital!" Bandit shouted. Bandit carried Leon, and they all rushed for the car. "Hey Leon,you get to sit in the middle with us!" Bingo said with excitement. "Bingo, can you maybe not talk to Leon? I think he just wants to be left alone". "Aw, but dad." "Sorry, Sport (engine starting), but we are in a rush!" They zoomed for the hospital.

Leon's condition was getting worse; he couldn't even speak. After a mere 6 minutes, they arrived at the hospital, and Bandit took Leon, and they both rushed inside as everyone else stayed in the car. Bandit went to the desk and said, "I found this boy in the creek, and he has busted his arm!" "Oh my! Is this kid yours?" The Nurse replied. "No, he isn't; all he said was that his name is Leon and that he is from Scotland." "Ok, let me just take him, and I will then ask him where he is from. "Ok,"bandit replied. Bandit headed back to the car and sat down. Chilli looked at Bandit and held his paw.
"Everything will be okay," she said.

Three hours later, the heelers arrive back at their house along with Leon, who was given a cast for his arm, and since he said he had no parents, he was going to stay with the heelers. On the way home, Leon got to know all of the heelers a bit more, and Chilli said that Leon could stay in the spare bedroom, which was next to Bluey and Bingo's room. Leon went up to his room to rest for a few hours while everyone else played games downstairs. He was lying on his bed, thinking about what had happened to him in just a few short hours. He woke up, went for a walk, broke his arm, went to the hospital, and now he is in a family's house. "What a day!" he said before falling asleep.

He woke up at around 4 p.m. when Chilli came in and invited Leon for dinner downstairs. He agreed and joined the heelers.
"Hey Leon!" they all said. "We are having beef and chips tonight," Bluey sang with a happy tone. "Sounds good, Bluey," Leon replied.
