The cicada sings while the sun continues to invigorate the playful clashing of colors. Green reflects his chromatic hues as he reaches his destination. A picturesque garden at the end of the path, in the middle a woman tending to the flowers needs. Her long wavy hair like a crow's feather sways in the wind, a small smile graced her features.

As her mulberry eyes met his, her smile grew as she acknowledged his presence. "Why the long face, Lelouch?"

"It's nothing, Mother." Lelouch replied as he averted his eyes. He turns his attention to the spot Marianne was tending to. Avoiding the topic.

"That flower, it hasn't bloomed yet."

Marianne softly smiles, "It's not the time yet. Soon it will bloom into something."

"Do you not know what seed you planted?" He asked with a hint of confusion.

She let out a grin, "Isn't it fun when it grows into something unexpected?"

Soft light gently filters through the billowing curtains, casting a warm glow in the room. The light continues to dance on the ravennette's face, as if teasing him. Shifting himself to avoid the nettlesome light was all the naught as the fluorescent hues continue to fill up the darkness in his vision. Reluctantly, he removed his covers as he attempted to get up.

His drowsiness started to fade as the time passed. Walking towards an intricately designed table, he grabbed the silver bell atop of it. The ringing of the bell echoed from his ornate room spanning to the vast hallway of the palace. After a lengthy pause, soft polite knocks resounded his door.

The door swung open as the maid entered the room with a cart full of lavish food. "Your breakfast, young prince."

Lelouch nodded absentmindedly as a frown tugged his brows. "Olivia." He called.

"Yes, my prince?"

"Is there any chance that Nunnally will dine with me?"

The maid gave Lelouch a sullen look, "None, my prince"

The ravennette was silent, his eyes downcast. ".. I see. Then what about 'that person' ?" He asked, his amethyst eyes glimmering with hope.

"That person had already started his sparring with Lady Marianne and is undergoing his training. Although it is not possible today, we can make an appointment to meet with him tomorrow." She answered with a determined expression. "I will make the appointment now to fit in his schedule."

Lelouch chuckled lightly, "Since when did he become so important for appointments?" He mumbled.

After a long silence he dismissed the idea. "Whatever, you don't have to do that Olivia. What kind of prince am I if I keep on clinging on to some random knight?" He said haughtily while a smug grin tugged his lips.

"If you keep saying things like that I will get hurt you know, Lelouch." A sonorous voice uttered his thoughts.

The ravennette slowly followed the voice, his amethyst eyes widening as he met those unmoving amber hues.

".. X you're here."

A boy who looked no older than 11 was leaning against the door, his long chestnut hair parted in two sides while his face remained stoic.

The boy nodded as he marched towards the dumbfounded prince, tilting his head towards the door "Nunnally is here too, don't tell me you expected us not to come?"

Lelouch kept a steady grin as he said in a sardonic way. "Of course not, surely a prince like me is more important than those who made appointments with you. Since when did a knight-in-training matter more than a royal anyways?"
