3: A Shift Has Occurred...

A few days pass & I am sitting with Matsumi as I stare at the table Euijoo sat at with his friends. Fuma to the right of him like usual. "You've been staring at them for a few minutes, Minori. Are you alright ?"

I scoff as I lock eyes with Maki as he seemed to clock my staring as well. All of them hate me. "誰が気にする？ ただ、彼らが私をどう扱っているかが気に入りません。 失礼なことをしようとしたわけじゃないんだよ、マツミちゃん。 " (Who cares ? I just don't like how they treated me. It isn't like I intended to be rude, Matsumi-Chan.) Matsumi pinched me harshly as to draw my attention away from their table. "I care, Minori. I know yo feel justified, but staring at them won't change how they seem to feel. Okay ?

I stormed off to the library to be alone. I opened a book which was of course on the history of Jewel-Bridge. The way the book spoke of Lord Ross, you'd think he was a completed hero. They told of what he had done as if it was a great accomplishment for the town. 

The more I read... the more I felt sick. How was I supposed right such a horrid wrong ? It was almost like I couldn't stop. I kept reading. Keep reading what was written about Lord Ross until there was nothing...

A Few Hours Later

I woke up hearing voices. Where was I ? Who was talking ? I kept my eyes closed to focus on the voices. "本当に本当ですか、EJ？ 今はそんな冗談を言っている場合ではありませんよ。"(Are you absolutely sure, EJ ? This is absolutely no time to make such a joke.) This voice was low, but the other clearly was Euijoo. I could hear Euijoo sigh frustrated as he kicked the leg of the bed I laid on.

Neither was aware I had awoken yet. "I am not joking, Nicholas-Kun. I hate her, but I can't explain it. Minori isn't really our enemy anyway." Had I hear that correctly ? Euijoo didn't entirely hate me for what Lord Ross had done all those years ago ? 

This is when  Nicholas interjected again. "You lead the pack, EJ. If you go through with this... you could potentially get challenged for Alpha rank." I felt someone sit at my side & lightly caress my hair. "それは私がリスクを冒す必要があるかもしれません。 こういう時間がないですね··· もうすぐ時間だよ、ニコラス·クン···" (That is just something I may need to risk. We don't have time for this... It is almost time, Nicholas-Kun...)

It was time for what ? Nothing else was said before the room became quiet again. I sat up slowly locking eyes with Euijoo. The way he was looking at me... A longing lived in his eyes surrounded by hate. However, I think he was very conflicted over whatever was coming. It seemed as if his club was running out of time. 

"What is it ? Why are you looking at me like that ?", I ask as Euijoo sighed heavily. Whatever he was about to say would probably cause with his club members. "Just meet me at the back of the school in an hour. You'll hopefully understand then..."

Then he abruptly left. Just what did he want me to see ?
