"So...what now?"
"We hop the fence."

It was a while after dad's memorial. There weren't as many reporters outside, but there were still a few asking about Electric Spider's whereabouts. My mom and I were both sitting on the couch, watching the random movie that was playing as there was nothing else to do.
"Y/n cariña, I'm going to sleep now. Make sure to turn off the lights when you're done. Buenas noches, amor"
"Buenas noches, mamá...I love you"
I turned my head from the television and gave her a small smile, not really making eye contact with her. She took a minute to respond, causing me to fully look up at her. I could see her eyes scanning over my entire face, lingering on the dark bags under my eyes with a frown.
"I love you too, Y/n. Try and get some sleep."
"I'll try mami."
She stayed for a few more seconds before nodding and leaving to her room. I've been having nightmares since the day dad passed. Everytime I'd try to go to sleep, the scene of Kingpin slamming his hands down on him plays on repeat. I've been trying to hide it from my mom as she's already been through enough, but it wasn't getting any better.
I turned my head back to the television, trying to focus back on the movie. After a few minutes of failing, I decided to go for a walk. I went to my room, grabbing my headphones and putting my hoodie and shoes on before sneaking out my window and going through the secret passageway dad made for us to leave and come back from missions without being seen. I went through it to avoid the leftover reporters and started my walk. I didn't have a set destination in mind and went wherever my feet took me, zoning out to my music until eventually running into someone.
"I'm sorry I wasn't looking where I was going...!"
I quickly looked up at the person with apologetic eyes before noticing it was Miles and giving him a soft smile.
"Y/n...are you okay? Why are you out so late?"
"I'm fine, I just went for a walk. Are you okay...you took quite a fall earlier?"
"Yeah, I'm all good. I uh... I was actually going to visit Spiderman's grave...it's a lot less crowded around this time"
I raised an eyebrow at his response before letting out a soft laugh.
"That's because the visiting hours are over, Miles. Were you going to sneak into a cemetery?"
"N-no..."
Miles' eyes strayed to the left and he nervously scratched his neck, giving me the answer to my question. I covered my mouth and laughed a bit more. I quickly calmed myself down and took Miles' hand in mine, dragging him along with me.
"Let's go then!"
I looked back at Miles with a wide smile. Seeing him give me one back, I turned back ahead and continued to the cemetery. Once we arrived in front of the gates, I let go of Miles' hand and looked at him.
"So...what now?"
"We hop the fence."
I nodded and looked back at the fence, scaling the size a bit. I took a few steps back and ran up, setting my foot on the fence, climbing up to the top and hopping over the other side, dusting my hands off afterwards.
"I haven't done that in a minute..."
I looked back at Miles on the other side of the fence, his mouth hanging open in shock. I let out a small laugh and watched him struggling to get over it. Once he got to the top I helped him climb down without falling and hurting himself. He landed on the floor and regained his balance. Once he was ready we made our way to dad's grave. My pace slowed down as we got closer, I hadn't visited his grave since the funeral. I couldn't handle it. I eventually came to a stop and looked at the floor, causing Miles to stop as well.
"Go ahead, I'll catch up with you in a bit."
"Are you okay...?"
"Yeah, just letting you get some alone time...you know...talk stuff out man to man"
I let out a forced laugh and turned my back to him, waving him off to go to his grave. I heard his footsteps get further away and I let out a sigh, walking to a nearby bench and sitting down. I brought my knees up to my chest again, resting my head on them and staring at the floor. My mind was racing with memories of dad. I had been trying to suppress them but they just kept coming up now. I stuffed my face into my knees and started to softly cry.
I had let my guard down and wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. I felt a hand on my shoulder and jumped up, putting a hand on my heart as I turned around.
"God, you scared me Miles-"
I fully turned around, expecting to see Miles but saw a tall man instead. I couldn't see his face as it was dark, but I wasn't taking any chances. I let out a small scream and shot an electrifying web at him, pushing him back onto the floor and knocking him out. As he was pushed away I felt myself get pulled closer to him, falling on top of him. I quickly got off and got into a fighting stance before noticing the web stuck to me.
"Y/n are you okay? What happened?"
Miles ran up to us, stopping as he saw me staring at the man on the floor with wide eyes. He took in the scene, moving closer to the man. His eyes widened as well as he saw the man wearing a spidersuit.
"Is he-"
"PDNY, put your hands up!"
Miles and I looked at each other before I picked the man up and started running with Miles.
"Do you know how to shoot webs yet?"
"Not yet..."
"Time for your first lesson! Copy what I do and aim for the tops of buildings."
I shot my webs and started swinging in the air, looking behind me to see if Miles was following along. He shot his webs as well and was following along. He was doing pretty good until he eventually ran into me, causing us both to lose our balance and fall to the ground.

Miles and I were able to successfully escape from the police and we were discussing where we could go.
