Monday, February 4th

School was cancelled for two weeks, which was very nice of them, considering half of us died, and the other half almost died. The hospital finally released me last night, but they wouldn't let me check in on Dean, so that's what I'm doing today. They did, however, tell me that he would be fine. He just needed a lot of rest.

I walk down the hallway of the hospital that will lead me to Dean's room. I've already spoken to Harper, Brianna, and Flynn, they're doing good; minor wounds. I guess they weren't targets. Luci must have had a grudge against Chad, for some reason.

I get to Dean's door and knock. After a moment, I let myself in. Dean lays on his bed, staring out his window, the monitor beside him beats calmly. I walk over and sit on the edge of his bed. He turns to me and gives me a smile.

"Hey," Dean says, in a slight whisper.

"Hey, how are you?" I ask.

"I'm..hurting? The doctors said I'll be fine, just need rest and antibiotics."

"That's good, that you'll be alright," I smile, "I would've come by yesterday, but they wouldn't let me."

"Figures," Dean shrugs, "So, what happened after I nearly died? No one would tell me."

"Hard for anyone to tell you if you can't have visitors," I point out.

"Very true," Dean gives a little nod, "Now tell me."

Dean's grey eyes train on me as I relay everything happened, "Yeah, so Jamie died, and Luci died, but he was the other killer," I finish.

"Wow," Dean says, he glances up at the ceiling, "We finally got them."

"We did," I nod as he looks back at me, "But...there's one more thing."

"There is?" He groans.

I chuckle, and grab his hand, "Nothing too bad, I hope, but I didn't kill Luci. A different skeleton did."

"Another one?" He asks, giving my hand a squeeze.

"This one was wearing a red cloak, and didn't seem interested in me. They said that Luci failed after they stabbed him. Then they just disappeared." I reply.

"That's...weird. Maybe it was the cult leader?" Dean suggests.

"Who knows, I just hope everything is over with," I sigh.

"Me too," Dean nods, before glancing away again, "I do have a question."

"What's up?"

"After everything calms down, and I'm released from the hospital...do you maybe, wanna go on a date with me?"

I snort, "A date?"

His face falls, "I mean if yo-"

I cut him off, "I wasn't laughing at you. It's just...so normal after everything that's happened, but yeah, I would love to go on a date with you." My mind flashes to Nick, but he's going away, and I don't know for how long. All he did was kiss me, once. He didn't even express anything about wanting to be with me, and there's nothing wrong with Dean. He's sweet, actually cares, and he has blue hair. There's no reason I can't see if this goes anywhere. If it doesn't and Nick comes back, then maybe that will be a thing, but for now...

"I'm glad," Dean smiles.

"Me too, but we're not going to watch a move."

Dean laughs, "I agree. No more theaters for now, or churches."

"Agreed," I laugh with him, "I'll let you get some rest now."

"Thanks," Dean grins, "Come visit me again, okay?"

"Of course, and you'll be out sooner than you know."

...

I sit on my bed, my door closed, ignoring the soon to be empty room across the hall. I've been staring at the wall across from me for the last thirty minutes, replaying the past two days over and over. I keep thinking there might've been something else I could've done. Some way I could've saved Luci. I mean, I know he killed a lot of people, he was a monster, but he was still my brother. I'm going to miss him, so much.

I let out a frustrated groan into the pillow I'm holding, and flop onto my bag. I stare at my bumpy ceiling as someone knocks on my door, "Come in."

I sit back up as my mom comes in, "Hey, Nick's here."

"Oh?" I stand up.

"Downstairs," Mom says.

I walk past her and down the stairs. She was telling the truth, Nick sits at the dining table. Sitting across from him, I give him a curious look.

"Hey, Nick," I say. If he asks me out now too, this could get very awkward.

"Morgan," Nick smiles, his blonde hair falling across his, now bluer than green, eyes.

"What's up?" I ask.

"Um, so, you know how I said we're moving soon?"

"Yeah? Are you not moving anymore?"

"I wish, but no, we're actually moving...now."

"Today?"

"Yes, today," Nick nods.

"Just spill it," A woman's voice says as she walks into the room from our bathroom. Her hair is long and very curly. Her green eyes seem to dance with amusement, "We haven't got all day."

"Angie, please," Nick groans.

Angie laughs, "Hey, Morgan. I'm Angelica, Nick's sister. I don't know if you remember me?"

"Vaguely," I say, I think I slightly remember her. Not much though, she left for college a while ago.

"Figures," She shrugs, "I'll be waiting in the car. Tell your mom I said thanks for letting me use the bathroom."

"No problem," I say as she walks out of our house.

Nick groans, "She thinks she's so cool, because she's in college."

"Isn't she like a senior?"

"I think so," Nick shrugs, "Anyway, yeah, we're leaving for Boston today. My parents really don't want to be here anymore."

"Do you know when you're coming back?" I ask.

"Not yet, but I promise I'll text you every day," Nick responds, "And I'll let you know as soon as I know."

"Sounds like a deal," I give him a smile, "I just wish you could stay a few more days."

"Me too, but my parents are really not a fan of murder," Nick chuckles awkwardly.

"Hah, yeah, me neither," I shrug.

Nick laughs, "I'll miss you."

"I'll miss you too, but come back soon, okay?"

"I will," Nick stands to leave, "Bye Morgan."

"Bye Nick." I watch as he leaves. Something tells me this isn't over. I'll see him again, but for now, I have a date. I also have college planning and the rest of this semester. I'm sure everything will work out.
