its almost lily's 1st birthday, time has went by so fast, it feels like only yesterday i was holding her in my arms and choosing her name

i would be going shopping for birthday gifts but bill already bought enough of gifts to last her until her 10th birthday so i don't need to

i go to the attic to see if tom found the bags yet "tom have you found them?" i say climbing the ladder

tom: "yea come and see what you want"
me: "okay...why is it so dark up here? wheres the light switch?"
tom: "oh its over there, pull it for me please"

i pull the switch and see tom in the corner surrounded by bags "how many bags do we have" i say giggling, tom shrugs and i walk towards him

i sit beside him and we look at each item that we want to give her for her birthday, we choose a couple of teddies and a blanket

bill calls up the ladder "y/n, tom? lily is crying! i think she needs her diaper (nappy) changed and im not doing that and neither is the nanny!"

i look at tom and he starts going down to the ladder, "i'll be down in a minute, tom" i say, he does a thumbs up and smiles "okay just remember to turn off the light"

i look around and find a big book, it looks new, it hasn't collected dust so it must be, i sit down and open the book, its a photo album, i flick through and find photos from recently, i grab the book and take it down to tom and bill

i find them in the kitchen, tom turns around when he hears my footsteps "did you turn the light off?" he asks, "ah shit no i forgot" i say, tom looks at bill and runs to the attic

me: "what was that about?"
bill: "you have to turn the attic light of y/n"
me: "why??"
bill: "whats in the book?"
me: "i'll explain when tom gets back"

me and bill walk to the attic and hear tom grunting, i hand bill the book and go up the ladder

"tom?" i call out, i see tom in the corner again but this time he is facing the wall "tom...you okay?" i ask, "mhm" he says quietly, i approach him slowly and see he is holding some sort of furry human thing

me: "tom...what the fuck is that?"
tom: "long story, it doesn't attack if the light is off  but it attacks if its alone with the light on, and thats why the light always stays off"
me: "okayy?"

he gets the thing settled and explains that it has to stay there because when he bought the house he was told it couldn't leave, "so it's cursed to stay here?" i ask, he nods and we go back down to bill

bill hands the the book "what the fuck is that?" tom asks, "it seems to be a photo album"

we look at the photos and we see one from yesterday, its me in the kitchen making lilys food, we turn to the back page and see a photo of me and tom in the attic with the furry human

tom grabs his phone and calls someone, he comes backs almost 20 minutes later and tells me to start packing everything, i look at bill and he is already grabbing stuff, i grab lily and start packing her stuff up first

it looks like we are moving houses

*time skip to when you move house*

we have been living in the new house for almost a week, it looks exactly like our old one but bigger and better

me:"do you think this will be the house we live in forever?"
tom: "yes"
me: "what did you do with the photo album and the furry thing?"
tom: "i hired people to take care of it, im keeping this family safe, nothing will ever hurt you or lily"
he kisses me and lily

something feel off but i keep the feeling to myself, i don't tell tom because i don't want him to worry but i can tell he feels it too
