Volume 2 Chapter 8: Twisted Fantasies?

Previously: Lucy was awake but pumped full of drugs. She looked her way feeling out of it. Sarah rested her hand on her bruised arm. "Who did this to you, Love?" Lucy gestured for her to lean in close. What she heard made her heart drop into the pit of her stomach. She felt sick to her
stomach. She rushed over to the trash can in the hospital room and threw up her dinner. It was late at night by this point. A few hours since the incident happened. Sarah wiped her mouth as she thought things over as she dry heaved a few times. "I'll be sure to find that weasel to answer from his crimes against you. I'll keep you posted, you know him the best. If we detain him, I'll have you observe his body language." Sarah cleared her throat and looked at her coworker seriously. "We will come out of this together. In the meantime I'll contact Adam." "Don't do that, Sarah." Her eyes widened slightly. "You don't think he's..." "They are best buds, he might try to hide him. Go check out Zac's place and then if they aren't hiding there. Then check Adam's place. I should be able to walk by tomorrow. The bullet didn't hit anything serious." She huffed,"You really need to take a break now and then." "I tried to and this happened. I think I'm okay with being a workaholic." She sighed softly. "I'll call you tomorrow with any news regarding this situation. Goodnight, Hun." Sarah walked past Kurono groaning in annoyance over this entire situation.

Kurono walked in and shut the door behind him. His body and soul was being consumed by rage but his eyes were filled with worry. He reached out and grabbed her hand and she felt him shaking violently in anger. She closed her hand and smiled weakly at him. "I'm going to be just fine." He said nothing but he wanted to disagree. "It's not your fault. Stop blaming yourself." He wanted to punch or break something really bad right now. "Kuro, I love you. I couldn't have you die on my watch. I was playing the part of being weak. But if you were to get hurt. I wouldn't have forgiven myself." He reached out and rested his hand on her delicate face. "But that's my line. You got hurt on my watch. I can't forgive myself or that damned bastard. I love you too, kitten. I want to make him pay for harming what I consider mine." She closed her eyes and nuzzled up against his hand. "Kuro, can you stay at my place tomorrow night after you check me out? I'm afraid he might go rogue and try to hurt me for real." He leaned in close and lightly kissed her forehead. "You have my support and love as long as I still draw breath." "You could just say yes and not be so dramatic." They both laughed. She groaned in pain soon after.

Kurono checks her out of hospital and takes her home, she feels unsafe at her place and so he sleeps on the couch at her place for the time being. She went to crack her back but soon regretted it. He was reheating their leftovers only to see her fall to her hands and knees breathing heavily. He set down the plates and rushed over asking if she was alright. She looked his way winching in pain. "That bastard is officially on my hit list. If Sarah can't find him, then we are going to hunt him down ourselves." He helped her stand and walk over to the couch. She sat down and he handed her the remote. "At the meeting in a few days, we'll discuss everything with the gang. I'm sure Vulture will be able to hunt him down with his top notch hacking skills." He went to walk away from her to retrieve their food but she grabbed his hand. He looked back to see her eyes filled with pain. He gave her a sympathetic expression. "I'll be right back, just hang tight honey." She let go of his hand reluctantly. "Select something for us to watch." She looked up at the TV. "Hmmm, what should we watch?" She got out her phone from her pocket and connected it to the TV. She used her tech skills and smirked deviously as she selected something.

Kurono set down their bowls on the coffee table in front of them. He sat down next to her in the middle of the couch.
