Freya had volunteered to work with the Midgardians, to keep her status as a Valkyrie, but only on Midgard. She joined an organization called SHIELD, under the name of Lucie Pascal. A unique name, one that wouldn't be figured out easily.
Currently she walked amongst Director Nick Fury, as they debated if they should evacuate SHIELD. There was a familiar relic from Asgard, the Tesseract, and her energy was threatening to implode the compound. "Sir. Do you really think Phase 2 is necessary right now?" She asked when Fury told some SHIELD employees to move the necessary tools for Phase 2. "Until the world ends we will act as though it intends to spin on."
"Yes sir."
Her and Fury were able to get some parts out before there was a small explosion. The smoke cleared and Freya's breath hitched in her throat. In the midst of the blue fog, she saw a familiar face. "Loki?"
The man looked up. "How do you know my name?" He spat. Freya faltered for a moment. "I...we had a life together. Before you died," she could barely squeak out the last words. Loki raised an eyebrow. "I assure you, Lady, I am very much alive." He looked down at the golden scepter in his hand and looked up with an evil gleam in his eyes. One of the higher threat agents rushed forward, only to be hit with a blast by the scepter. Another was hit by the same fate.
Fury placed a hand on his gun and yelled, "Sir! Please, put down the spear!" Loki looked to him and looked to another agent. The agent began to speak into his comms before Loki pressed the scepter's tip to his heart. His eyes turned black, then turned a bright blue.
Next Loki moved on to one of Freya's dearest friends, Agent Clint Barton. "You have heart," he growled, controlling him too. "Loki, enough!" Freya hissed, pointing her gun at him. "You won't do that. Your Midgardian weapons are nothing against me," he readied his scepter. Freya saw the blast coming a mile away and contorted her body just enough to miss the blast. "Interesting." Loki smirked as Agent Barton came to him. "Sir, we've got ten minutes before this place comes down on us." Loki nodded and shot Fury for good measure, making sure Freya was distracted.
Because of her still retained Asgardian strength, Freya easily carried Fury to a safe vehicle. Agent Maria Hill was driving. Loki and the now controlled Agent Barton, along with a controlled Dr. Erik Selvig, were ahead. With the Tesseract. She sped up the vehicle as they reached outside, just before the compound imploded. "Agent Coulson?" Fury asked into his comms. Coulson answered with, "Yes sir?"
"I want every living soul not working search and rescue looking for that cube. As of right now this is a level seven. We are at war."
Freya's heart dropped into her stomach. The man she loved, the man she wanted to be wed to, had killed and was now on the run from the law. There was no possible way she could defend his actions. Especially not being an agent of SHIELD. She would have to roll with the punches.
