Weeks had gone by with not much going on. Severus and I have become close; telling me stories of places he's been and places he would like for me to see, he told me stories of the crazy things that happen at Hogwarts, creatures and ancient animals I've never even heard of, he had told me how my little town became Spinners End over the years. It was no longer as small as I remember it, two story houses now lined the streets. the only thing that stayed the same is how eerie it was.
And here we were, sitting in his living room, sipping a cup of tea. Only a week away from visiting the one place that I have left of my mother, both of them that is. My heart hurt once more as my aunt came to mind. I wish things could have been different for her. She didn't deserve what happened to her. As I was lost in thought, Severus called to me, after a few seconds I looked up at him, and tilted my head signaling that I was listening. He smiled softly at me as he sat down close to me, "Am I to assume you're excited for Sunday?" I grinned, nodding with excitement, as I entered my thoughts into his brain, 'Absolutely, I was excited the day Ablus brought it up' I smirk at the thought of the bubbly old man I met a few months ago. Severus nodded, "Yes I thought so, now I must tell you to be prepared, if anyone makes you uncomfortable, just stay close to me and you'll be fine, alright?" I nodded, 'Alright' I thought for a moment before asking, 'So you are a teacher there?'. He nodded, "That is correct, this'll be my fourth year." I smiled, his features told me that he was not excited, 'really? Honestly, I never pegged you as the teaching type, what do you teach?'. He sighed as he leaned back against the sofa, " I teach potions, defiantly not the course I wanted but, its not the worst one I could've gotten,". My eyebrows came together at the thought, 'What is potions? like brewing them?' His eyes widened at the question, then after a moment, a small hint of a smile graced his lips, "Would you like me to show you?" My eyes lit up at the mention of the activity, 'I would love that!'
After a few minutes, we found ourselves in his cellar, jar of many different substances lined the shelves, I took my time examining them, many of the liquid substances had many different colors and textures. After I finished looking the shelves up and down, I turned to face the middle of the room, a giant cauldron sat in the middle on a table large enough to work on and around, inside was boiling water. I looked up at Severus, who had been watching my amazement from the door, 'Show me!'. He chuckled as he walked up to the cauldron and readied his wand, I sat and watched as he moved bottes around the room like a merry-go-round, and as he poured different liquids into the water, the room lit up with colors as every liquid forced it to change its hue, I smiled with excitement. Never have I seen such grace, it was like seeing a whole new world. When he finished he smiled at me, "What do you think?" with a hop I grinned, 'That was the coolest thing I think I'll ever see' his shoulders bounced a little as he chuckled at me, "Just wait till you get to Hogwarts, it'll really blow your mind," He walked up to the cauldron, and wafted the smell to him, a face of pure bliss came across his features, then after a moment he stepped back and gestured to the bubbly liquid, "Take a whiff, tell me what you smell." I smiled as I slowly leaned into the steam as I inhaled, it took me a second to think of the smell, then I looked at him confused. After taking another sniff I looked over at him, 'It smells like you'. A face of pure shock appeared across his features, he starred at me for a moment, "Are you sure?" I blinked at him for a moment as I started doubting my sense of smell, I walked up to him and smelled his chest for a second, then walked back to the cauldron and inhaled the scent once again, after a moment I nodded again, 'Yes. it smells just like you, you have a nice scent by the way, almost calming' After I said that, his features turned from shock, to dumbfounded. I smile curiously, 'Why? what is this potion anyway?' he hesitated for a moment before speaking, " It's a potion that allows you to smell the scent of the person you care for the most." I tilted my head at him. 'Your sent was Lily, wasn't it?' he stared at me for a moment, then nodded sharply, I frowned slightly, 'What's wrong Severus? Are you two no longer friends?' he swallowed harshly as he starred at the ground. I walked up to him slowly, 'Severus, it's okay, you can tell me, we used to tell each other everything, remember?'
He looked up at me with nothing but pain in his eyes, I picked my hand up and swiped his hair from his face so I could see him better. After a moment of pure silence he spoke in a whisper, "She's gone, Avianna...she's dead," my eyes brimmed with tears hearing this, 'How?' He looked up as he tried blinking the obvious tears away, "She-She was murdered, by Lord Voldemort." Right then, a pain shot through my head. A scene played, it was one of my dreams I've had before, of a women with bright red hair, screaming as the same bright green light engulfed her, and again, the same little boy, with bright green eyes. When I came out of it, Severus was holding me from falling, "My god Avianna, what just happened?" I looked around panic rising, I looked up at him, 'I...Severus, I think I dreamt of her that night..' He starred at me confused, "Of Lily?" I nodded quickly, 'I've been having strange dreams and visions since the day I was locked up down there,' He narrowed his eyes in thought, before speaking again, "What else have you dreamt of?" I bit my lip in thought, and answered with two simple words, 'a lot' He nodded, " We will talk to Albus about it later, I think you should get some rest." I nodded as I smiled softly at him, before heading up to bed.
Things are getting, Strange.
